On a separate note, DS doesn't even know what a pacifier is, I think. Used to sooth him by playing music, sing to him or tell him 'nonsense' stories

Also does not suck his thumb (thank god)

I breastfed both my DS since birth. DS1 is partially on breastmilk and milk powder cos supply insufficient. Only managed to breastfeed DS2 exclusively. He is now 13 months old and still enjoy my breastmilk. :please: I must say breastfeeding is really good for mum and baby. Not only it helps to slim down the postpartum body. It forms a good bonding between the mother and the child.

My kids were/are all exclusively breastfed too. My 4yo and 2yo are still on breastmilk. It's the best!! :celebrate:

I avoided nuts as much as possible, except during the festive season

Chillie and tea for DD1; garlic for DD2 and basically nothing for DD3. That's possibly why DD3 is still not fully weaned at 4 yo

Came across this article, thought I'd share it with my BF buddies here. It's just an excerpt from a really interesting read:


QUOTE: On a personal note: I have nursed six children. The first three weaned themselves before they were a year old. I was a La Leche League leader at the time, and all my friends were nursing their toddlers. I couldn’t believe my babies were doing that to me – I was willing to nurse them till they went to college, but there was absolutely no way to convince them to keep nursing. Even withholding food didn’t work. My experience with my next three babies reminded me of the old adage “Be careful what you wish for”, because they all wanted to nurse between 2 ½ and 4 ½ years. I practically had to pry them off with a crowbar. It was interesting to me that the early weaners were all thumb-suckers and blanket holders, while the late weaners were never self-soothers, but used the breast for comfort as well as nutrition. All were breastfed on demand from day one, so I can only assume that individual differences accounted for the different weaning experiences.

I am happy to report that all six have turned out normal and well adjusted, so their radically different weaning schedules apparently didn’t have a long term effect on their development. I’m so glad – with six children, I have plenty of other things to feel guilty about. UNQUOTE

I'm thinking of letting DD self-wean i.e. baby-led wean. She will be 10 months young this National Day. Motherhood is not easy but it shure RAWKS :love:
