I'm planning to go Taiwan on a package tour during the Dec school holiday. Anybody can advise which travel agent provide best Taiwan tour package? Thank you.

i suggest tour with Flying Cow Leisure Farm. Children will enjoy a lot at the farm, especially the feeding times. However be prepared that the sightings in package tour will be touch and go.

so overall , din u bot lots of stuff bk ???

Think the PIXIU shop you n I visited is different. Only 1 master (think 50+ man) gave a presentation. Then several salespp came out to serve us.

I did not try the snowy mango 😢 Didn't buy much either. Not much luggage space. Also dun know where the money went

I had a good laugh at the fengshui and pixiu shop which the tour guide brought us to.

The fengshui lady presenting, claimed their grand master is Zhuge Liang. She described Liu Bei, with the help of Zhuge Liang defeated Zhou Yu , advisor to Cao Cao and established the Han Dynasty.

Unfortunately i cannot share the joke with my family and other tour members. I guess most of them have not read the romance of 3 kingdoms, or have watched the Chi Bi movies.

I guess it depends on where you want to go visiting. Historic sites and night mkts did not appeal to my boy  He likes the Leofoo theme park, the Salt City ATV ride and the hotel stay at the hot springs resort.

          Are you going with children?

          Hi Jennifer,

I'm going with my hubby and two boys. One 12 and the other 8. They boys don't like Taiwan but bcos we have never been there, and my parents wish to go too, I intend to convince the boys. I guess they won't like the historic sites too. Really big head, with kids and old ones going, really don't know what to do??

Agreed that the historic sites are touch and go type.

              Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiang_Kai-shek_Memorial_Hall
We did not go inside the hall, tour guide claimed an hour is needed but we only had 30 mins. So only got to see how huge the place is.

              Martyr's Shrine http://eng.taiwan.net.tw/m1.aspx?sNo=0002090&id=1795
So crowded during the guard changing times. My boy too short to see anything.

              National Palace Museum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Palace_Museum
Very huge place, very crowded too. There is a children hands-on room at level 1. Not too sure if an adult must be with the child. Many interesting delicate ancient handicraft. Must hv patience in going around to look at them.

These places are found in std tour packages.

I think it is better to contact a local tour agency, then to customise a package for the family. Can be more relaxed as can omit places that are not so suitable.

                  insider:
Am going up Taipei for a short trip this weekend to attend a wedding. No time to really move around and thinking of spending a night of book shopping at 诚品书店.

Anyone has any idea where's the main shop of 台北敦南店 which operates 24 hours? Besides this main branch, are there any branches that will be opened 24 hours as well?

Intend to lug many many books home...
I like to visit 诚品书店 too at Taipei, also the wonderful foodcout at the basement. I spent whole afternoon there the last time when I was in Taipei. Thinking of going again also this time but want to plan my trip more worth it since flying all the way there. Any reccommendation for places out of Taipei? Have been to yilan and shilin. Thinking of bring kids to tou chen farm, anyone been there before and how to get to the place? What is 台北敦南店 selling ? and where is it?

The 24 hours 诚品书店 is located along the same road once you get out from ZhongXiao Dunhua MRT stn. Very short walking dist. We asked for which exit from bypassers.

We visited the bookshop at night. Though the shop floor is only one level, it is a very huge place. Very organised, almost like a library.

Recent news say Jetstar at Taipei airport abandoned a group of passengers supposed to check in for the return flight …due to one flight attendant reported sick and insufficient crew-pax ratio for the remaning pax…

conclusion is : avoid … to prevent holidays kena spoilt

Can you remember there's any cafe inside? My flight back is Sunday 9 am and so am thinking of spending my whole Saturday night there to chew the books then head straight to the airport on Sunday (therefore need coffee and some snack for the night)...[/quote]There is a small cafe at the same level as the bookshop (not ground level, think 2nd floor). There is toilet facility near this cafe too. There are small eateries inside the MRT stn too, but not sure if these eateries open late at night.

This is a good way to save on 1 night hotel stay. Thanks for the tip.
