Not exactly what you wanted but hope it helps.

      Taken from today's Strait Times.

Top Performers in 2008 - O level Exams

      - Anderson Sec
      - Bukit Panjang Government High
      - Catholic High
      - Cedar Girls' Sec
      - CHIJ St Nicholas Girls'
      - Crescent Girls'
      - MGS Sec
      - Nan Hua High
      - Singapore Chinese Girls'
      - SJI
      - Tanjong Katong Girls'
      - Victoria

I thought 10 top should also include RI, RGS, River Valley, Nanyang, HCI, ACS etc? At least if kid cannot go to top 10, just want to know what other good secondary schools that can go. That is why I want to know the top 20 secondary school in singapore.

Anyway , thank you for providing the above list. I didnt know Cedar,Bukit Panjang Government High, Anderson, Victoria, Tanjong Katong are good secondary too?

BTW, MGS and SJI stands for? :?

But of cos. Cedar has all along been Top 15 ... there were a few years we were even positioned no.9 ... that was when i was still studying.
I would say besides academic achievements, Cedar shines in Gymnastics, Military Band, NCC & Track & Field too...
Cedar thought us nothing less than team spirit, camaraderie-hood, and of course Honesty, Perseverance, Courtesy (school's motto) and gave her students nothing less than warmth, joy, fond memories and a great platform to realise our potential πŸ™‚

well the list does not incl the TOP TOP schools such as RI, RGS, HCI etc.

The newspaper list is based on O level results. These really CREAM of CROP school do NOT take O level. They offer IP- Integrated Progam wher stdnts do not take O lvl. They have 6 years pro and at end of 6 years they take either GCE β€˜A’ level or IB International Baccalaureate Diploma which is offered by ACS(I).

                IP schools:
                Anglo Chinese School (Independent)
                Duman High Sch
                Hwa Chong Inst
Nanyang Girls High Sch – which ll joined HCI in HCJC
                National JC
RGS --which joined RI at RJC
                RI
                River Valley High
NUS High School of Maths and Science – 6 yrs IP leading to NUS HIgh sch Diploma

These school are schools that offered GEP at school based. All GEP stdnts from primary ll go to one of these inst to cont their GEP prog.

Not all IP schools offer the school based gifted education (SBGE) programme.

There are currently 7 IP schools which offer SBGE.

This link to MOE website lists the 7 IP schools.

well i wonder whether that all students from IP schools are really the CREAM of the CROP. Many parents send their kids to GEP training/cram sessions to get them ready for the GEP tests. So the qn remains as to whether they are really that good in the 1st place. If a child does the GEP test without any Training and passes, then the child maybe gifted.
