That's one reason why we opt for 1-1 even though for each lesson, we pay more. We got to complete the course for beginners' and intermediate quicker and my boy had the full attention of the teacher and he had to pay full attention as well. In the end, the total cost (over a shorter period of time) worked out to be almost the same as the total cost for group session (over a longer period of time).I juz want to share my experience in a trial lesson at Seng Kang branch.
It was :snooze: :snooze: pretty boring for DH, DD and myself. Knowing my DD is not a focus learner (she was K1 at that time), she was definitely not listening to the teacher. Instead she chose to look at what other kids are doing.
The program may be more beneficial for kiddo who are attentive in class.
I strongly advise parents to go for trial lesson before committing. Otherwise, you will not know what you are pay for. -
It seems to me that Krtc at different locations actually operate differently. They don’t really have standardised materials but all up to the individual teacher.
My friend and I did compare the worksheets before. My boy attended the Maths class in a centre in the East while my friend’s son attend in TB. My friend was complaining to me that the material that they charge is very expensive, the amount of workshhets does not justify with the kind of fee.
But for my boy, he received a lot of worksheets for each lesson so much that some of the weaker students may not be able to finish but for the faster one he will defintiely help them to go through them.
My friend had now pull his boy out of the centre, not only because of the material fee issue but of some other issue as well. -

My child is no longer attending maths but during her time there I did consider their material fee high (T.B) but I think the fees are low or justifiable so i saw it as a whole package. I have signed her elsewhere and the fees are really high in comparison. -

Why did your child quit the centre then?
I am actually looking for good Englsih tutor, do you have any recommendation? -

[/quote]I'm also considering KRTC at TBP for P4 Math. Anyone has any idea if the worksheets are challenging? DS is placed in a low ability class in school where doing mainly activity bk! Yet the kids expected to sit the same paper as the level! So desperately needing a Math class that touches on challengers.moonee:

As I had compared the maths worksheets with my friend’s son at TB branch, I think that the quality is really so so. The tutor may be more of the fun type, a lot of "casual talking" not as serious as some parents may want him to be. Perhaps, for lower primary is still okay but if you are thinking to help your upper primary child to improve then perhaps should look for someone that is more serious in their teahing.

Anybody out there got any ideas that kent ridge phonics lesson is good??
.
the one that i have in mind is kent ridge at toa payoh hdb hub upstair.
.
tks
Now they are in the intermediary, just started. As for the ICR, they will be starting stage 1 next month.
The KRTC comes w a book, so easier for you to practise with them at home. The classes are not fantastic, but maybe becos my girl got foundation at ICR, so she could pick up quite fast. -
