It's indeed 12years unless they lie which I think is unlikely.

Centre is free from HFMD for past 12yrs.

WOW!! Not a single case in past 12 YEARS?! That's very impressive!!

The school students seemed quite a no. to me.

Something special about this school is they are using mattress different from other schools I have seen. Not sure what it is called but the mattress top bottom and end bottom has a stand that lift mattress off the ground. I personally think is good and healthy for the kids.

          Hi CatTy 007

My neighbour/friends children are free from HFMD childcare. Centre is free from HFMD for past 12yrs.

Some childcare centre do allow siblings without any symptoms to attend school as usual.

really or not... either the school little or no children or they did not report.

look at the current HFMD saga, even PCF kindergarten (3hrs only program) order to close 10 days.

how can a centre be free of HFMD for 12 years??? it like telling me the country has no AIDS patients.

Most important thing when sourcing around for school is check how they handle their HFMD case.

School that accept students whose siblings has HFMD should never be considered. This is the first important criteria followed by any others that you think is important to you and your child.

With HFMD going on, it's best to keep our children away from playground.

If you really want to let them have some fun, always wash their hands immediately after that. Or use some wipes but then still have to wash hands after that.

I doubt those playing centre that you mentioned did a thorough clean or clean their stuff.

              keenDaddy:
With the current situation of HFMD numbers double that of last year, it is actually difficult to find any centres without any cases. Asked around all my friends with kids in kindergartens and CCs, looks like most are not spared.

It seems like HFMD are commonly linked to kindergartens and CCs but how about the big playgrounds - paid ones and unpaid ones like IKEA, enrichment centres etc. They still just as or more prone... and yet they stay largely open during the period. And they are less likely to be more vigilant as compared to the preschools they are not under the watchful eyes of MCYS and MOH.....

still quite unbelieveable, nowadays looking at the trend, getting HFMD is almost like catching a flu. Just like the flu, there is different strain - some serious, some mild.
if they have some way, probably they should share it with MOE or MCYS - which i think are quite helpless abt the situation... 🙂

Yup! When the principal told me, it’s quite unbelievable.

I think they really know a way how to teach kids keep clean and away from HFMD 😉

                      Hi

Which Just Kids is your child in now?

                      Hello All

I have left cherie heart ( chevron) and transfer my son to Just Kids, the service + the place ( very clean) very good and nothing bite my son anymore.

That is a big different from Cherie hearts.

                      Cheers
                      Jenny

Aiyo, that was because that infant wasn’t diagnosed hfmd initially, heard he was sent home due to fever. Dr said everything was ok. It was much later then that baby was suspected due to 1 spot. The director called me personally to inform me on the day the mummy reported to her. It spread to the childcare cos dr cleared the baby initially so mum continue to send the older one to school. Who knows they actually caught hfmd from cousins but older one didn’t have symptoms till later n baby had a mild case. Dr confirmed that 1 spot to be hfmd after hearing cousins caught hfmd too. Luckily my precious didn’t ganna. This case is really suay. Sometimes the dr is also very impt, cannot everything blame the school. Btw, was talking to the director recently and she shared that the recent hfmd case of the pg 1 was actually a misdiagnosis by the dr. It was a viral rash not hfmd. Faints… Some dr too kiasi, anything also hfmd. Some dr too Bo chap, dun care n let the child go back to sch n infect everyone. Think nowadays all dr take the kiasi approach cos of the rising hfmd.
