All About Getting Priority Registration
-
Hi parents,
It is latest update at 13oo hours 3.8.10.
For Poi Ching, there are only 15 vacancies left.
For applicants stay more than 1 km. Parents have to go for balloting.
For Tampines Primary, there are about 50 vacancies. It is easy to access and moves in new building this year.
to your child success, Jonathan -
Can anyone tell me if I can register my child in more than 1 school at the same time?

NO, you can register at only one school. But you can do parent volunteer in more than 1 school. -

\"THE current Primary 1 registration process will not be changed to give higher priority to children living very near to their school of choice - even if they live right across the street from it.\"

Thanks for the info. Haven't read today's papers yet. But it's so sad and stressed to read this. I had my fears when I registered my son back then...hoping there is a phase for those living within 500m.

LPPL... Just wait n see lor... next time population density gets higher... more births (though not local SG)... single session schs... Then I'll see how the schs can accomodate those <1KM.

Daddy D,
Govt said not enough babies to replace us, so take in PRs and convert some to SCs. Now enough people, so limit PR application. Already PRs and new SCs are giving born-and-bred Singaporeans like us harder access into nearby schools. Whatβs next ?
Given a βhotβ year for P1 registration like 2006, hubby & I were so relieved (very worried then) when son got into Pei Hwa (staying within 1km) but can you imagine those registering in 2012 ? -
Hi there,
I hope I am posing this query in the right thread.
I was reading through the various phases of registration and under 2A2, I came across this:
b) For a child whose parent is a staff member of the School of choice.
Out of curiosity, would appreciate if anyone can advise whether is/are there any condition(s) to be met? ie must the staff be working for a certain number of years before registering the child under this phase?

Not that I know of. My son's tutor is presently serving her bond after NIE and she just registered her daughter in the school she's teaching in. She didn't even need to produce any documentation when registering her daughter. However, you may want to check with your school admin for confirmation.
