I am not sure your area, but chairman told me , at least 2 years for member and 2 years for obsever

That's incorrect. To be eligible for the letter that would entitle you to register your child in Phase 2B, the only qualification is that you need to have served as an \"Executive Member (EM)\" for at least one year. The thing is, you need to serve as an \"Observer\" for a period of time before you get \"promoted\" to become an EM. Some have been promoted within three months, others took longer, but the advice so far has been that you need to be fairly active AND not miss any meetings before you will be promoted to EM.

Sorry to hear that you volunteered but ultimately did not get the letter. Hope you have some backup plan apart from migrating to Australia.

For all who want to go the RC route, do check out this thread: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420

If serving as GRL is only for less than 1 year and Phase 2B is already over, will it be useful if the local MP writes a recommendation letter for Phase 2C?

Phase 2C is open for all citizens and PR...you do NOT need any recommendation letter. So how does getting a recommendation letter going to help? You are still going to be one of the applicants, and subjected to balloting if demand exceeds supply.

I’ve a place that is within 1km of the school, but it’s being rented out now, so I can only move in after the current tenure is up in Nov. Can I still register my child as "within 1km" in Phase 2B/2C by showing them the tenure agreement as ‘proof’? Thank u!

                  Hi parents,

It is latest update at 13oo hours 3.8.10.
For Poi Ching, there are only 15 vacancies left.
For applicants stay more than 1 km. Parents have to go for balloting. 😢

For Tampines Primary, there are about 50 vacancies. It is easy to access and moves in new building this year.
                  to your child success, Jonathan

NO, you can register at only one school. But you can do parent volunteer in more than 1 school.

\"THE current Primary 1 registration process will not be changed to give higher priority to children living very near to their school of choice - even if they live right across the street from it.\"
