Aiyo, that was because that infant wasn’t diagnosed hfmd initially, heard he was sent home due to fever. Dr said everything was ok. It was much later then that baby was suspected due to 1 spot. The director called me personally to inform me on the day the mummy reported to her. It spread to the childcare cos dr cleared the baby initially so mum continue to send the older one to school. Who knows they actually caught hfmd from cousins but older one didn’t have symptoms till later n baby had a mild case. Dr confirmed that 1 spot to be hfmd after hearing cousins caught hfmd too. Luckily my precious didn’t ganna. This case is really suay. Sometimes the dr is also very impt, cannot everything blame the school. Btw, was talking to the director recently and she shared that the recent hfmd case of the pg 1 was actually a misdiagnosis by the dr. It was a viral rash not hfmd. Faints… Some dr too kiasi, anything also hfmd. Some dr too Bo chap, dun care n let the child go back to sch n infect everyone. Think nowadays all dr take the kiasi approach cos of the rising hfmd.

There was once a confirmed HFMD occurred on Wed, Sch only SMS all parents on the following week. Don’t you call that reacted late?

Do you know why the ex-principal left?
How come the director call you personally to explain HFMD case?

Hi my child has been in a Cherie Hearts branch for more than a year now. Overall I’m happy with the care given by her PG1 teachers. However I’m not sure if I should keep her there until K2, since I’m not confident of their curriculum. Are there any parents out there with K1/K2 kids who can advise what they feel about the curriculum of Cherie Hearts? Is it adequate to prepare for Primary 1?

Hmm... I've not encounter that. The one whom I know is the delayed infant case which the director called to explained. Dunno why the ex principal left, didn't see her end last year. Maybe found a better job prospect? I've not much concern over the change of principal, this current one is gd too.

I think have to see the parents expectations. Hmmm.. Maybe can ask the in charge to brief u about the kindergarten curriculum. Cos my child is still young so I didn't ask the school. I should go n ask them abt it. How do u find their curriculum?

Won't say that CH curriculum is not as good as most kindergartens. Having my kid in CH and tried to understand a bit more abt the curriculum initially (though still not as detailed as my wife), CH curriculum is not without its merits - it is focused on preparing the child for primary school through mostly play-based learning, and yet not overstressing too much on worksheets and homework. This is also complemented by practical learning skills and also progressive readers to develop your kid's reading skills. This \"rojak\" of learning has evolved through the years and the tie up with some foreign institutions (think wheelock and a university in china - can't remember which one) so far seems to be working.

Yes, agreed that PAP and NTUC (my first skool, not the NTUC premium one) probably the best value for money since these are partly sponsored by the government! 🙂
