[Bishan] Tutors/Tuition Centres/Enrichment
-
Hi,
I heard about Learning Point at Thomson, I heard its not bad. -
My son has been at LCentral Thomson for 3 terms, he likes it a lot. I think the program is quite similar to ICR. The teacher assessing my son at the beginning said she was from ICR. They changed a few teachers when my son was in the phonics program which was not so good cuz every time they changed teacher, both teacher and kids need time to know each other. All the teachers we met were native speakers and quite friendly and my son liked them all. The teachers were happy to share with us about my son’s learning progress.
I researched also ICR and Morris Allen, but found their centres very depressing (environment) and crowded. LC has a much nicer setting, at least Thomson branch, compared to others. Personally, I cannot stand those windowless and insufficiently lighted classrooms. LC has lower teacher student ratio too.
I would definitely recommend this to my friends, but most of them like ICR cuz bigger name. -
My DD and DS ( P3) & (P1) have been with Parables@Work at Sin Ming Plaza for the past year.
I must say it have been good. My DS got the highest mark in composition for her class in the exams.
I find the course materials very interesting and diverse and the teachers are good. -
hi any parents can share your experience with lcentral, parable@work and neumind centres at sin ming? Tks in advance.

I sent my gal to Mind Stretcher last mth..unable to comment on the progress yet. But this center is very popular. I have seen their material and find it quite systematic and exam oriented. Previously, my gal was with Morris A and MPM...she enjoyed the classes but I think they did not teach her much on exam techniques. When I asked her for feedback abt Mind Stretcher..she told me she preferred MA and MPM, prob cos she had more \"fun\" time then, and the teachers at those centre were very friendly.. -
Hi bebe, I used to send my girl to mpm n Morris too. Mpm was when she was k1. And she was at Morris for two years but I don’t see any improvement. That why I decided to change tuition centre.

My son used to attend lessons at ICR (Hougang) and Morris Allen in Bishan when he was in K1 all the way till P2. He was in the extended class in Morris Allen, however as he progress to the higher primary, the lessons doesn’t seems effective for him anymore. I have switched him to Learning Point at Thomason Plaza. So far, he is doing fine over there.
