MMM:
My 2 sons are 11 months apart as well (supposed to be a year, but the younger one, being kiasu, cannot wait, so came out just in time for his christmas present, ha ha). The only difference is that they are born in the same year (2002), 1 in Jan while the other in Dec.Our No. 1 (girl) and No. 2 (boy) was 11 months apart. They are both yr end kids so they are in a different year otherwise it would be like \"twins\". People usually mistook them for twins as No. 2 is now catching up in terms of height.
When they were still babies, got a whole platoon of people working for me, as I was still a working mum then. But ever since they started N1 (3 years old), I became a SAHM.
In fact, I feel very blessed with this arrangement, as both go to school together, learn together and they play well together. -
Hi Mowmow,
Wow that's really interesting to have 2 kids in the same year. My No. 1 was Dec baby so it's not possible to be the same yr. But it would be crazy and probably fun if they were born in the same yr. With both your kids in P1 this year, how does it work in terms of expectation?
Not sure abt you but I feel that having kids of such close gaps have lots of physical impact. Eg. the continuous stretching of the belly for 1 yr plus compared to other mums who are able to recuperate, go back to normal before getting pregnant again...
Also, i realise that I don't remember much of No.2 baby time. Probably too busy juggling with the 2 of them that time just passed by so quicky and before we know it, he is now a big boy. Unlike now with my No.3 who is in Nursery, we enjoy having a \"baby\" at home as she is so different from the older ones (still innocent and cute). -
Of course I will be expecting more from my elder one, and a little less from my baby, because he is afterall about a year younger. But I have to thank my elder one, as he had taken the initiative to teach his brother how to read when they were still in kindergarten. My elder one picked up reading very early and he was patient enough to read the daily readers to his young brother every day before he learnt how to read independently.
And, lucky me, both my children are quite smart and they are able to deliver good results. But strangely, though my young one also made some careless mistakes in his papers, I tend to let him off more lightly, as to me, his results are already a "WOW" for a little baby (Bec he is almost the youngest in class and quite small build but is one of the top scorers in the class). And I like the confidence that he shows in himself.
I also did not feel that I had missed out anything during my baby’s baby days. As, hours outside working hours are fully dedicated to my 2 darlings (no need to cook or do any household chores). In fact it had really been a joy to have 2 boys growing up together and seeing how close they have become, and how caring they can be over each other. -
Mine at 4 years gap. Little bro arrived before my elder boy turned 4.
It is within my plan. When elder boy was 2 plus to 3, found that he was LONELY, he need a playmate. Some might not agreed that \"is time to give a playmate to a child\", but i find nothing wrong about that. Especially, when elder boy was at that age, he was more matured then. Of cos when he was much younger at few months to 2yo, i dare not to think of it. Still remember, mil chased me for a 2nd one when elder boy was just few days old. :!: Taking care together will be easier
Of cos, i dun agreed with too many years apart like 7 yo or older, :scared: need to start all over again!! and with the elder one at the new challenging Pr 1, then with another new born in hand to feed, to burp, to change diaper......
So i chose the middle out of it.
Well, this 2 boys have different character. The elder boy is more soft hearted, more flicker, easy to get influence; the younger one is more strong minded, stubborn and dun get influence easily. Still learning with them... :celebrate: -
Mine: 1st and 2nd - 2 years apart
2nd and 3rd - 3 years apart
3rd and 4th - 1 year apart
4th and 5th - 2 years apart
5th and 6th - 2 years apart
It's a blessing! -
Wow TSH0202…6 - very hard to beat…and what blessings.
For mine,
#1 and #2 23 months
#2 and #3 19 months coz #3 was very kang cheong …and intense - came out at 35 weeks! -
For me,
1st and 2nd 2 years apart
2nd and 3rd 5 years apart.
3rd is really an accident. It is a surprised gift from God. -

Hi
Like to ask how long you all waited before having your second or third child, and what age gap you feel is the best - from the parents' perspective and for the child?
Also anyone has more than 1 c-section when delivering their babies before, and whether it harmed their health?
Thanks! -
Hi,
I gave birth to my second son one month after my first one turns 3.
That was a manageable age gap for me.
Both was delivered by c-section. I'm healthy but not that fit though.
At times, I do feel some pain at the c-section area if I stress myself too much or carry heavy things.
but that happens rarely.
