With the somewhat delayed start of school term on 10th Jan, does JH1 NJC year end later than mainstream secondary schools ?
Any idea which is the last day of school for 2011 ? -

Is there any school bus to send students home from NJC?
Does anyone have DDs in JH taking public transport? -
NotKiasuEnough:
They have to manage their own transport in NJC, no schoolbus as far as I know. Are there any school bus to send students home from NJC?

Can anyone elaborate more on the purpose of the banding / learning style test? Tks.
first day - there is a learning style test.Live to LOVE life:
Hello,
I have a child who is new to NJC. Most IP schools have a banding test in the first to fourth week as soon as school starts. Does NJC have it too and if it does when?
Cheers

Some of us thought the end results of the learning style test was for class placement. Think we did not get a confirmed answer from the school on this.

It is a very simple test- what time u like to study, do u like to listen to listen when u study, etc. More like a questionaire than test.
Next week is Orientation week. We only learnt of which class our children were placed in at the end of the orientation week. No idea how the class placement was exactly done. Doubt there was a banding test last year. -
Parents of JH2 (this year), hv your child been checking their KM assignments?
My boy found a LA assignment last night. He claimed it was not up on KM a few days ago. -
Jennifer:
Thanks so much for the info, Jennifer. Now my mind is at ease as I initially thought they had to go thru' some kind of academic test again and that will definitely be a put off as my DD is expecting the orientation to be fun like what her friends in other schools have told her.We had a discussion early last year on the learning style test too. Hello,
Thanks for the reply to the past post. You know in the morning around 6.30- is the buses from Newton Station to NJC very crowded? My daughter was wondering if it was more advisable to take the 156 just opposite our house or go to Newton and take any of the buses there that lead to NJC. Thanks a lot

Same lah - surely whole bkt timah road would still be crowded. At 6.30am, the bus should still be quite ok. If not, then have her take the bus at 6.25am lor. Straight bus better than changing - really.Hello,
