My niece was posted to her second choice Choa Chu Kang Sec Sch with 216. She then appeal to her first choice Unity Sec Sch with a COP of 220 and was successful.

Does that mean that the Unity’s Sec Sch COP will be lowered to 216?

No it won't. COPs are based on solely on S1 Central Posting and does not take into account transfers, DSAs etc.

Hence schools like SOTA and NUSH should be thought of in terms of PSLE tscore cut off point as they do not take part in S1 posting

based on this thread, parents are talking about cut off point for NUSH, currently being listed at 264. But we all understand that NUSH does not take part in S1 posting - hence whether got cut off point to talk about? Anyone after receiving PSLE result can still go and apply to NUSH and take part in S1 posting at the same time (for other schools). Entrance to NUSH is all by DSA

may be it is more appropriate to say that the students admitted to NUSH this year had PSLE result ranged from xxx to 264.

                  but never mind

the para below is copied from NUSH website :

                  Year 1 (Phase 2 – PSLE Phase)

                  Application Process

NUS High School of Mathematics and Science is not in the list of schools under the Secondary One Posting Exercise. Students who wish to apply to join NUS High School of Mathematics and Science using PSLE score in our Phase 2 selection must apply via our online portal. The registration period for Phase 2 is open for a week from 25 November to 01 December 2010 (including the weekend on 27 and 28 November). The online portal is accessible 24 hours a day starting from 10 am on 25 November 2010 until 10 pm (Singapore Time) on 01 December 2010.

Not true. The DSAed students include some of the top scorers in last year PSLE exam including my DD GEP classmates from RGPS. Quite a no of GEPers above 270s in this small cohort (< 140) . Post PSLE intake is also a small (believe less than 10), lowest score (COP) being 264.

Only fewer than ten got in post PSLE? That's very few. Is NUSH trying to have 100% intake through DSA only. Previously a lot more were admitted post PSLE.
