See http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/posting.php?mode=quote&p=33524.Hi .. I also have a question. Is there any minimum period that one needs to stay near a school. what about people who wish to rent a place close to school to improve chances and also allow the child to get used the Primary school environment and then move back to old house. eg. registration is in June 09 for 2010 P1?
thanks -
Thank you for the reply! I think I am clearer now.
On another note, if I have another property that will TOP the year my child goes to Pri One, what will happen if I sell it within one year of my childβs school? -

You should not be using that address for the P1 registration since that is not your primary home address.Thank you for the reply! I think I am clearer now.

Actually this is very confusing!!
Oh dear, please bear with me...
My in-laws are shifting out, and we bought another place (TOP in 2012) for ourselves. Which address should we use now?? The current one (that I am staying in), or the one to be TOP-ed, which I may sell in future? Can't be use all of them right? -
You should use the address that you are staying at and intend to stay at after your child enters P1. If you are found to not be staying at your registered address, your child can be taken out of the school and sent to any other school which has a vacancy. This has happened in the past.

Jet Li take up citizenship here and move to Bukit Timah. So, this will grant him citizen benefit such as priority for P1 registration to top primary schools. Wonder what in return he will contribute to the nation β¦

But when he sell the house next time he may still make profit and earn them back, given this is a hot area near to top schools.MdmKS:
