Does one need to be a hokkien to join Hokkien Association???
I am finding it strange as I realised that friends who join for the sake of registration are all non-Hokkien. -

to be a member of SHHK one has to be a hokkien. and to provide BC to verify this.

they verify your birthcert before accepting your application.
Just 1 parent needs to be hokkien, so that may explain why non-Hokkien parents are going via that route. -

Yes, they will only start giving out the letters 1 week before phase 2B starts. I believe they will decide how many letters to give out base on the available places after phase 2A2 registration ends. If you are selected, they will call you up to notify you that you are eligible to register under phase 2B. The letter will not be mailed to you. You will get it from the school during registration. -

are you sure they won't send you the letter ? I heard from some SHHK members that you need to bring the letter for the registration.
