Actually there is no need to spend money installing CCTV. You have all the right to be in the study room when she is teaching your son.

I used to be a private tutor before, and I have taught many young children. Parents/grandparents were always present and they could hear and see clearly how I was teaching. A good tutor has nothing to hide. If she insists that you leave the study room, then you should change a new tutor.

Maybe 1-1 teaching doesn’t suit your kid. Some kids function better in a small class vis-a-vis 1-1.

I understand your patience and concern over handling a student who might also possess behavioral disorder or not. Have you thought about an alternate environment for troubled kids? I can relate when a friend of mine has gone through the same thing, he lived, worked and taught with a troubled teen and was wondering how he can help. Such behavioral disorder can result to something traumatic and the kid needs to be in an environment that can promote growth through therapeutic sessions. Ive been recommended by someone to check http://www.experts123.com/q/what-makes-turning-winds-academic-institute-different-from-other-programs-out-there.html, have you heard of them? Do you think its alright for kids to be in residential treatment program, or institutions that have wilderness programs for troubled teens? Any advice would be appreciated.

The point is that your kid is no longer comfortable with the teacher. For the ease of mind, its better to install a CCTV. If it really happens as your kid says… :x :x :x

Tamarind, I agreed with you on the point of being in the room with DS1. However, I do not have the luxury to do so as I’ve got to take care of DS2 and DS3.

I’m in the midst of changing tutor and looking out for one that fits the timing and my budget. Group tuition is not suitable for him as he gets distracted easily.

Changing tutor is a good option. Personally the most I have ever got from private tutors is one who kept telling my daughter she is so stupid. My daughter is not so bright but I thought if the tutor has such a short fuse, maybe she is not so good a tutor after all.

Actually teach tuition is very smart, good money and can be tax free if the person so wishes. But I think good tutors can perform magic. I failed my A-maths in Sec 3, and I met a wonderful tutor (lost contact…sorry) who transformed that into an A in O’s. To this day, I still have no clue how he did it. Best of all, i was in a GROUP class - his modus operandi was to have kids (of all levels) stream in for an hour and do their own work; anything we didn’t know, we’ll check with him.
