        Hi

Also anyone has more than 1 c-section when delivering their babies before, and whether it harmed their health?

        Thanks!
Both my children are born under c-section. They're about 20 months apart. 2 other friends with 3 children - all born under c-section. Think the maximum for c-section is 3 , i think.

C section is a rather major operation so more time is required for recuperation after child birth. I was still able to breast-feed my two kids and carry them - but for the first two months, I think it's best to rest more in bed. And eat all the 'po' you can - so whatever confinement dishes my mil cooked, i 'walloped' them - actually i love confinement food especially 猪脚醋.
Avoid drinking cold water - drink red date tea (also my fav). Keep yourself warm and you will recover fast.

Well, it's up to you to believe all these but it works for me. I used to be rather sickly (having flu quite frequently) before child birth but after giving birth to my 2 children, I can testify that my health is much better and my mum commented I look 'redder' , not so 'yellow' like before.

Actually, I would like to go for the maximum quota - but a miscarriage put a stop to that - anyway - no regrets. 😄

          Hi

Like to ask how long you all waited before having your second or third child, and what age gap you feel is the best - from the parents' perspective and for the child?

          Hi TimmyOwner
I've had 2 C-sections, 22 months apart. I know of a friend who has had 4 C-sections, and is looking so trim and fit.....envy envy!!

My view is child birth is a major activity for a woman's body, whether natural or C. It's how you take care of yourself after the delivery that would be important. Of course, the obstetrician will play an important part. I was up and about by day 3.

In terms of age gap, it's really what you feel would be important. My view of having the kids with smaller age gap is that they can play together and share stuff like toys and clothes. Chances are they will also be closer since there are more opportunities to share common play interests, school-related topics etc.

          IMHO.

Wow, you mean it's possible to have 4 C-sect? My gynae told me the max is 3.

My cousin-in-law's girls' age gap is very close, less than 2 years. They behave more like very good friends cum playmates. But must also consider the gender of the children, think girls generally socialise better.

I have 2 boys, both delivered via c-section too. Age gap is 4 years. They are well, elder and younger brother lor. Younger brother must listen to Elder brother type of relationship. They dun play as much together when DS2 was much younger, but now my 2 year old runs and imitates my 6 year old. There is a limitation to the kind of games that they play together as well. Esp so when we can now play board games and chess with DS1, but DS2 is still at the building blocks stage.

We plan for such an age gap bec we wanna enjoy each of their infancy stage, treat them as individuals with undivided attention so that they can be unique and not be looked upon like a shadow of his elder brother's. Plus we dun want people to compare them, like kor kor can do this, how come di di can't. So such a wide age gap will ensure the gossipy relatives will not be able to compare too closely, since they will be at a very different stage altogether.

The cons to this plan is that, it's really like starting the whole birth-giving and child-rearing stage altogether again. We had to keep our toys in the store for a few years before they can be used by DS2. By the time, DS2 is ready for the toys, they got all mouldy and outdated. So, most of the things are bought again.

C-section, up to this point in time, didn't really great damages to my health. But there is a bulging tummy that will be quite obvious as compared to natural births since the cut is near to that area.

But if you are a mummy who can't stand pain, better dun opt for c-section.
Once, I shared a delivery suite with a mummy who was due to c-section due to some complications. She delivered before me, but when I was already walking and going to the toilet, she's still feeling too painful to get out the bed.
