Hihi… its PH2C parents’ turn to gan jiong. I lost track of who is registering at which sch and the distance. I was aiming for RMPS but am 1.7km away. So most likely will try GESPS which is <1km away from my place.

However, I think I someone mentioned in this forum that maybe RMPS may have balloting for 1-2km in PH2C?

        Maozai,

Yes RMPS past balloting history always 1-2 Km have balloting. You may want gauge yr chance on 3rd day. Quite suprised that GESPS,ZDPS & BRPS do not have any registration in the Phase 2C.

RMPS =63 places open in Phase 2C.

Please keep us informed of RMPS status. I prefer teachers who are diligent in challenging their students than teachers who are bochap. If I can be sure of getting into RMPS, I will definitely go for it.

A neightbour of my mother-in-law says that Gan Eng Seng Primary’s teacher really bochap. Her son never hand in homework for 6 months and teachers didn’t even bother to tell parents. So if you go to a school where teachers are bochap, then as parents, you need to work harder to keep checking back with the teachers.

I don’t think it’s fair to judge a school just because of a bochap teacher. Every school will have bochap teachers. And anyway the teacher may be focussing on the majority of students who are willing to learn. Many people do not understand how a teacher’s challenge is in a class of 30-40. On the other hand, I reckon that RMPS has very diligent teachers who challenge students with higher standard exercises. Then again, the students have to be diligent and able to take the pressure. My friends having been complaining their kids are having tons of assignments/research projects everyday, even on days where they have to stay behind for CCAs. They have to end up sleeping late, or burn their weekends’ enjoyment. The kids are only in P3s mind you.

Saw RMPS Teachers after school they head out during the afternoon dismissal talk to some parent.

Discuss the student’s work assignment mistakes with the parent. Wow this RMPS is “On The Ball” school I think.

Wonder when my kid enter RMPS the stress level would be up!
                :stupid:

                  Just to share,

I know of parents complaining to me about CHIJ, unhappy about how the school system works, and a particularly bochap teacher. A parent also complained about ZhangDe, about how poor this teacher teaches. Even Radin Mas, I’ve also heard of unsatisfied parents. Not forgetting Henry Park, I have a parent who told me things before.

But I think it’s might not be very correct to generalise based on one person or few minority’s comments. Even very good schools have teachers who are bochap, but it doesn’t mean that less popular neighbourhood schools will not have teachers who are the genuinely sincere in helping their students to improve.

It’s all a matter of whether the student is self-motivated or whether the parents do encourage their children enough plus whether the teacher’s teaching style is suitable for the child or not.

I don’t think GES is really that bad, have heard good and bad things about them. So I would say that you should keep your options open and have a feel about that school rather than to count on the hear-says around.

                    winth,

True, good or less popular schools sure have some bochap teachers.
Ha.ha. So aiming Phase 2C RVPS? Hope no balloting for more than 2Km for your case.

If fail, just apply 2nd choice then go eat.
