      Hi everyone,

My daughter is currently in Pri 6. I am thinking of helping my daughter apply to just one school via dsa, either NYGH or NJC. I think my daughter should be able to get a PSLE score of between 255 to 265 if nothing goes wrong in PSLE. She has no special talents, but she is in the school brass band for 4 years and plays the cornet.

Anyone has applied for both before and can share the experience please? Is it very difficult to get admission through DSA? Is it time consuming and stressful for the kid to go through the selection process?

What do you think is the culture of NJC, as compared to girls school like NYGH. My daughter is a lively person, so she told me that she prefers an environment where the teacher gives freedom of expression and lets the students have opportunity to express ideas and opinions.

Anyone can share their views? Thank you so much. :please:

If you are in mainstream with no outstanding achievements, win many competitions or excellent school results(like top the school every year) , I would say DSA is a waste of time. Work hard for the PSLE and get in via the PSLE score would be a better choice.

Hi NJC parents, Anyone had experience on NJC dsa, can share about their ability test. I read from their website applicant needs to take their ability test. to find out more about NJC ability test.

              Quote from website:
All applicants will be selected to participate in Selection Phase 1.
The Ability Tests will comprise the followings: Mathematical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Abstract Reasoning. Candidates have to sit for all the tests on the same day.

              Thanks for any sharing.
What i do know is they are all MCQ questions and nothing is based on current school syllabus. It is like the Pr 3 Gifted Education Screening Test.
              No preparation is required. šŸ™‚

Applicants still need to clear two more rounds before being accepted into the college.
              All the best !
