Actually, one of the surest ways is to go down to the school personally and check out from the board map on display outside the general office. When we went to the school of our choice to check out the distance, the board map showed that our flat is just on the boundary line of within 2km. We had to check and confirm with the school admin for confirmation that our house is considered ‘within 2km’ of the school. Hope this helps.

Actually, you don't have to go to the school personally. You can just call them, assuming someone does answer the phone.

Now the P1 Registration time, all school have the maps being pasted at outside the gate for reference.

Yeah, that’s what I"m thinking, since now is P1 registration time, I think all the schs sld have the map up right? That’s why thinking take this opportunity to go and see. Arbo I will pay for the information via SLA

Wow! Good stuff, unfortunately a little inaccurate. My home is right on the cusp of 2k from favoured school, counted as within on this map, but officially out according to school.

Of course you can also choose to go to the school, and take the opportunity to reccee. If you are going to the school, you don't have to spend the money obtaining the information from SLA. I understand from fellow forummers that schools use the benchmark from SLA, so, they (distance used by the school and SLA) should be the same.

Yes - either you go to the school personally to check from its board map (where there will be 2 circles drawn on the map, 1km line and 2km line); or you pay to use the SLA one.


Just wonder, if you call the school, will the admin staff entertain such request? Would you trust the info given by him/her?
