My 3rd order will be delayed too. It's already more than 6wks. DD's shipping service is really inconsistent...Did you order a lot this time? I am surprised that my 3rd order took such a long time since I didn't order a lot...

Usually would be less than their currecny of $200 lah.

Look like the lead time is getting longer and think have to order earlier to avoid disappointment.

It seems that it very common for orders to be delayed. My order was sent out of the outward office of exchange on March 31st 2011. This sunday its going to be 8 weeks since my order was sent of of dangdang (it was sent out 20th march). Before I saw someone said something about they change the RR number on the way. I was hoping that was the case because there are no updates since the 31st on that tracking website intmail.

I placed an order on the 10th using DBS mastercard. This is my first time ordering.


I reached the stage where i have key in the security number shown on my sms. After there is a small popup saying something like my order is not successful, for a second.

The thing is that i didn’t receive any email from DD and i checked online, there is no deduction on my credit card. The status on DD is still pending for payment.

So what do i do now? Appreciate if anyone can help me. Thanks

Good out from dangdang : 10/3
departure from outward office of exchange (GUANGZHOU) : 21/3
Arrive in Singapore : 12/5
Estimate to recd : after 16/5

The lead time is more than 10 weeks!

I think the lead time mention in DD (4 to 8 weeks) is calculated after the items left GZ. Their shipment is via surface mail, that is why it takes so long to reach singapore.

My 1st order depart from GZ on 21 March, I received it on the 13 May, which is about 8 weeks.

So far, from what I know, only the following cards are accepted:

OCBC mastercard (must be able to access phone banking)
citibank visa (have to apply the secure code)
AMEX (can be issued by any bank)

So far with AMEX, there's no need to enter secure code.

I suggest to check again on Monday to confirm that there's no transaction. DBS offers different types of AMEX, you might want to consider.

When you click on the title to purchase there will be this near the book image 库　　存：有货，可送至全国 请选择收货地区 . Previously, there is a list of warehouse for designated city but now it is no longer listed under 可送至全国.

The 请选择收货地区 is a new feature that allows you to select which city/province to deliver the book.

Depending on where you are, delivery time can be 1-2 days or longer. You select the location and the timing will be listed for different delivery methods used.

From reading the thread, you will need to have a china phone number because the courier will contact before delivering the items.

hi bijin,

i get that msg all the time (ie there is a problem with my payment). Monitor your card for a while, or call up your bank to check on the last transaction. I find there is a time lag between payment and the amount showing up in my dbs online banking account (under unbilled txn).

After say, a week, if it's still not paid, you can click on My Orders in dangdang and submit the payment again. Don't worry, if it's duplicate payment, dangdang will refund the money back (it's just a matter of time, and exchange rates).

In all, I find ordering from dangdang a love-hate relationship. Love the prices and variety...hate the hoops they make me jump through. Good luck with your order!

When I am pressed for time, I will choose urgent delivery. it cost an unbelievable RMB10 and if the goods are in the same city, a previous order was delivered within 24 hours after order placed (selected cash o delivery).
