May I ask why do you choose this school? I'm also looking at their site today, suggesting to my son.

Yep! We did really well last year! (I was in the 2010 batch!) Really proud of my school and my friends 🙂 Oh, and just to clarify, AHS IS a Band 1 school! Hooray!!!

P.S. I really think AHS offers us very good grounding for our HCL! In my class alone, 85% of us scored a distinction for HCL - I'm not sure A1 or A2 but majority of my friends scored an A1 [and the lowest scored in my class is a B3], even this friend of mine who is really angmoh and who doesn't speak Chinese at home! I think you can really see the difference when you compare this statistic with that of schools like RGS - only roughly 50% of the students scored distinctions! Being in a SAP school does have its perks ;-D

And HCL is also rather important since you HAVE to take HCL if you're hoping to go to RI(JC)/HCI(JC). And the O Level HCL grade is also reflected as part of the A level results for University admission - an A1/A2 for O Level HCL is an 'A' at the A levels for Chinese 🙂

          Cheers!

May I know if there are many China scholars in this school? Or those A*star scholars? Thank you.

                Hi,

I am considering sending my son to AHS next year as it is near to Tanah Merah MRT station. Please advise if the teachers there are caring and good in their teaching and will help students who are not so good in their studies.

                        Hi,

DD is studying in this school, next year Sec 3. DS also applied this school, next year Sec 1.

DD likes the school a lot, she told me the teacher very caring and patient. I also felt they constantly communicate with the parents on school happening and events.

New Principle, previously from Kranji Sec, started 2011. DD still not used to current principle working style, still prefer the previous ones.
