      Great report Yerdua.

      Thank's

      Yerdua:
Like many parents, i'd say bye bye to JW, WG, Rulang... so left Xingnan, Juying, Corporation, Pioneer. To make the best out of it, hubby and I shortlisted Juying and XIngnan and went down to the school to take a look just now.

Juying's premises seems smaller than Xingnan. (canteen, outdoor field, office podium, carpark) It was the upper level recess time when I was there. Children were playing at the field, nothing rowdy 😄 The children also gathered at the canteen when the bell rings promptly. Teacher did nag about the children's PE attire though.

So overall, Juying's feel to us is tt its a typical neighbour school but with a cosy feeling (due to the smaller premises?), children are not too rowdy (even during recess play time). With the positve comment fr parents and being single session solved and assured most of my concern.

So, most prob, will bring my son tomolo and register to end the stressful P1 registration! Cheers!

              Hi parents,

              Just to share ….

I am very lost this time during last year…. No choice I have to be thick skin and talk to those aunties who always bring their chn to wait for school bus (any school). I am lucky that I met all helpful aunty who share with me abt their chn school. Some will even show me the text book, homework, etc.

Juying is smaller as compare to other school in Jurong and the distance make Juying sound so ‘WuLu’…… After I registered I was still abit … is it ok? Or not?

The orientation they organize was very successful. set up game booth for our chn to try and pics. We (chn and we adults) feel very comfortable after that. After the orientation, around nov, there will be talk again (optional) for parents to help to prepare chn for P1. I get to know some of parents whose chn is in the same class as mine, we exchange phone no for our future survive…

The teachers I met so far are very good.

My boy enjoys the school and I am happy.

Now I am 50/50 but swaying to apply SHuqun tomorrow as they have soccer and Boy's Brigade (my boy loves soccer and is currently having lessons at the Starhub/Arsenal Junior club) rather than trying balloting luck at Rulang (which has no soccer team) since both within 1km and it s more likely that Shuqun is more secure.

I also heard that my cousin's friend had a son at Rulang but was appalled by the amount of homework and assessments that she enrolled her younger child in another school. Also my cousin said there has been talk in her circle of friends that Shuqun's reputtauion has gotten better these few years.

I will sleep on it and then make up my mind tomorrow by 8am.

good luck to those who is applying for shuqun pri sch tmr and within 1km hor.beco i think the applications for shuqun will burst beyond its vacanies for Phase 2C.but will only have balloting for more than 1km based on past 3 years history.

Coconut, they did not reveal the number.THey only said the number is less than 177 because they only applied for the purpose of applying even though they are more than 1km.and i guess they asking those more than 1Km to withdraw. No chance at all if they not within 1km.
Btw Shuqun is a good school too but not as good as Rulang .keke
At least better than the rest.

I do not have much choice.Rulang and Shuqun is the nearest which is within my sight. That is why i definitely will not consider the rest such as Xingnan, Juying,Lakeside,Jurong West and WEst Grove as my 2nd choice because it is not near at all.The next nearest one is Corporation Pri Sch if my son cannot get in Rulang lor.If it really happens i can only pray that Corporation Pri Sch will improve over the next few years.

Today when i went to register. Those who lives within 1km at Kang Ching Road also applied. :!:
