Try NYPS...register 2 years in advance, but need 80 hrs.

Not easy to get shortlisted even for interview with the Principal.
        Need specialised skills...

Wow like that even buying a house near NYPS (1Km) also no confirm would be able to get into. Must be rich & have specialised skills then can able Phase 2B in NYPS.

Thanks dear. Is it a weekly activity? Coz I've to looking after my DS so if I do get selected for the PV, I might have to find someone to look after my DS for awhile.. *shakes head* headache..
Historically, Marymount Convent didn't get filled up till phase 2C Supp, so you should have a good chance to get your DD admitted even in 2C.

But considering you also have a DS, wouldn't it be easier if you get your DD into a coed school so that your son can be admitted in phase 1? Else, you will have to worry about his P1 registration further down the road. :?

            Hi Cheeky,

I don’t feel it’s too early at all to start on pv work, although some schools may be slower in giving you work (they’ll probably give priority to those who are registering in the coming year). I’ve heard of one parent (kid is registering in 2012) who had completed the 40 hours in half a year.

            good luck!

              3Boys:
It really depends from school to school. Mine was one-two times a week (2-3 hours each time) for a few months. Pretty intense but got most of my hours in over a relatively short period . Others may be slow burn of 30 minutes x 80 sessions, for instance.

Your reply letter must write nice-nice hor, like writing a CV for job interview okie?
Reply letter?! Omg... Still need to write up a reply letter? I tot just fill up the form that they're gonna send me will do?

Yea, I do hope I can finish it fast, I don't mind daily.. I was wondering, for girls school, if my hubby is gonna do PV, do u think they will accept it?

Jav, no HPPS rejected me too 2 yrs ago. Tankee, they didnt ballot, not that I know of anyway.

Autumn82, chief has complied all the schools past balloting history. FYI, Marymount typically has available places even in phase 2C. Hence it is not really necessary to do PV in order to get a place in the school. Pls read the FAQ thread to get the link.
Thanks Luanee for your reply. I did read the thread but not sure if I read it correctly so came over and confirm it.

But I'm not living anywhere near the school (I'm in Sembawang), so hubby was telling me to do PV to have a better chance..

We did think abt the coed school as well so that DS could have a secure place.. But the schs ard my area isn't that... erm.. up to our liking.. So no choice... Prob have to do PV twice by then... 😢

Thanks, Luane for your reply. I have submitted for 3 schools for PV & my son is due for P1 Y2012 too. Nan Hua has rejected, whereas the other 2 schools would have to wait till year end for them to do selection.

3Boys, is that why Nan Hua rejected me as I did not include any reply letter - CV? Their form did not indicate they need CV leh… All I did just feel in all relevant answers to the questions they ask.

We are not a doctor or lawyer which have outstanding / specialised skills. I really think that it is not fair if the school select the PV in that way. Before even the children go into the school, they have already started assessing the parents’ ability.

If go by balloting, it’s fair & transparent! Just my opinion oni!

Jav, I was rejected by NHPS 3 yrs ago too! Hee... anyway this school is famous for being extremely difficult to get selected as a PV. U can read the 'Clementi' thread for more info.

Autumn82, based on past few years trend, it does not matter where u stay. Everyone who applies to Marymount Convent gets a place in 2C, and it still have leftover places for 2C(Supp). But of coz if u really want to have absolute peace of mind, u can always sign up as a PV. Good chance to know ur dd's future school too.
