At least can start to find her a good chinese enrichment class so that she wouldn't have to feel stress........

BIG THANKS for all in this forum.......

Actually if you can, start by reading simple CL story books to her. It helps more than attending once a week a few hours of CL enrichment classes. JMHO

Fully agree. Reading and listening are very important.

Btw, just to add. My gal has 2 CL moxie a week. The regular tingxie/moxie comprises of word/phrases from list given by tr with 2 surprise chinese idioms/sayings(成语,谚语,论语) (which tr will go thru about one every other day in class) and another moxie on phrases base on 5 senses (五感佳句). Every fortnight/ 3 weeks, CL tr will also ask them to memorise a tangshi (唐诗). Hence, it will be good to start exposing your kids into these early. Don't be too anxious if your child has not started yet. Its a good-to-have knowledge. Not going to be tested in P2 exam. 😉
Will try to read her more CL books. She can actually read but with a slight accent but not good in her writing. She can't write the characters and finds it difficult (she's a left hander) ......so do not like to practice 😞

Have not received but heard from other mums that it would be on 20th Nov......
For the past two years, lots of parents complained about the bookshop selling the sch uniforms. The sch changed the design of the uniform slightly in 2008 and appointed a new supplier (said its fty is based in M'sia). This supplier is also said to be supplying to some other sch. So the churning out of uniform is slow. The bookshop also stocks up less qty.

I only managed to buy the new PE shorts recently. Each time it was out of stock :x

Btw, the afternoon recess starts from 3pm to 4pm. During these hours, the bookshop serves only the pupils, no parents allowed. So the afternoon hours open to parents are 2pm to 3pm. Plus it is closed on Wed afternoons. Not too sure abt the opening hours (starts at 9am) becos I usu. go in the afternoons.

my ds is in P5 this yr.

Thru my yrs of experience with the bookshop, esp towards yr end where I have to collect the books for following year.
My ds will submit the booklist b4 sch close and collection dates are given for each level, just have to state which day u are gg to collect. But every yr, either the bookshop gives me not complete or double copies.I had to go back to sch again. :x I remembered one yr I had to fax a complain letter to the in-charge… cos med square ex bk also no stock.Reason given: yr end printing co they are printing diaries & calendar. I told her then print earlier to beat the jam!!
Just went bookshop yesterday, boys’ short size 26 no stock, dont when coming was the reply…

BTW during recess it is not tat parents cant buy from bkshop, u can go but if there are any pupils wanting to buy, have to let them go 1st.

I was there on Monday at 3.15pm, refused entry by the security guard even though I told him I had arranged to meet #2 outside the bookshop at 3.30pm to buy PE shorts. He only let me in at 3.40pm but told me specifically to wait till all the pupils leave the bookshop before I go inside.

Luckily #2 did not blur blur wait for me and went to the canteen first after he could not find me outside the bookshop and later came to look for me again.

That's why I got the kids to buy these writing books before the school holidays start.

Last year I overheard a mother complaining to the general office that the class teacher scolded her dd for not submitting a particular book. That particular book was out of stock but the little girl did not know and could not tell the class teacher.

So far, I managed to get whatever is out of stock from Popular Bookstore. No need to go back to the school.

Btw, do you buy the Art n Craft textbook and Music textbook? I bou for #1 P6 this year, ended up not used at all.
