Hi my girl is in Pr 6 this year and my boy graduated last year.

In my children's times, the P1 students can join selected CCAs such as Chinese Dance - but audition is required. I think my girl joined Chinese Dance in pr two and my boy joined tennis in pr 3 after selection exercises.

There may be other enrichment CCAs such as violin or ballet but parents have to pay for them. That's all I know...

BTW, is anyone of you placing your child in student care centre nearby SVPS ? 😄
I have visited some and found out one of them namely Wat Patther Student Care Centre. This is a Buddhist non-profit organization and I like it because located at ground floor instead of others are under basement. Anybody have ideas of this centre ? Can share with me ?

(Am I posting the correct thread har ? 👅 , I scare kena :nunchuk: ler. I have posted this question under Student care thread but nobody attend to me 😞 )

Some of my friends’ children attending southview go to Ichiban Studentcare behind palm garden. Transport will send them to school if i’m not wrong.

My DD is in P1 this year. From what I remember, she took some sort of test during orientation last year in their class while parents are briefed by principal and HOD in the hall. I think this is to allow their teacher know the ability of their student.

They have homework almost everyday but my DD usually can finish within an hour after dinner. They also need to go online to do some of their assignment/practice, especially during school holiday.

They have english and chinese spelling every week. We are quite surprised their chinese spelling is in han yu ping yin for the first 6mths. Now they start to have chinese words with some in han yu ping yin.

My DD also join ballet and it is FOC, no audition. They just did a performance at Victorial theatre recently during their school musical night. But you need to pay for the clothings, shoe, etc. The practice is once per week. The ballet teacher is engaged from outside but with 2 school teachers in-charge of admin.

From what we know, there is also modern dance which is FOC. No sure on violin and chinese dance.

Regarding HC group, you will get better update/info by their HOD during orientation. 😄

For SVPA, yes we join but not active member. I know they organise celebration for teacher's day, children day, coffee session with principal, talks, etc. They will issue newsletter through school for these activities, asking volunteer and donation. So far we opt for volunteer twice but they never contact us. I guess they have more than sufficient volunteers

For student care centre, there is one diagonally opposite the school main gate, in front of a basket ball court which is on ground floor. There is another one opposite the school side gate which is underground. I guess the advantage is they are less than 5mins walk to school.

                  Hope these help 😄

Nope, I have not heard of such thing happening in SV. In general, SV has caring and hardworking teachers.
