All About Montessori

However when A spoke to the Montessori principal, the principal was not keen to take her girl in for enrichment class, as she said that with her ongoing Letterland program at her kindy, it would be too confusing for her. So now A is wondering if that is true, and whether she should try another Montessori enrichment centre or forget it.
Well this just goes to show that not all teachers are 'that'
passionate in delivering their purpose ain't it? I'm thinking
more on the lines of...... a Montessori Phonics programme
may escalate her Phonetic awareness actually. But i guess
different strokes for different folks. Yes, do encourage her
to try other centres if she is still keen on it. But more
importantly, she needs to raise her concerns at the CC,
especially since her daughter is there for longer periods
of the day. Since the CC covers Letterland, a bit wasted lor
if cannot take advantage of a good Phonics programme to
explore her journey in the reading process.pea:
Okie. Be seeing her soon then, ya!And yes, I've encouraged my friend A to join the KSP forum.

That's good then..

I'd rather work on the word building part instead ofHow about the phonics part? He has mastered basic a-z. Is the blending of 3 letter words next step?
Thank you.
jumping straight into the blending/reading of 3-letter

There is one cartoon show on "Word World" with a lot of animals. I think itβs quite good.
Last weekend, we went to the zoo and I asked him to spell out and memorise. -

Would anyone like to advise where we can find good Montessori playgroups in the AMK/Bishan/Thomson area?
How about United Montessori House?

United Montessori seems promising. I visited the cc and find its environment better than most nearby cc that I visited earlier. The principal is warm and patient too. However, the cc is full now and we'll have to wait till early next year...
Does anyone have any comment on Sunny Bunny? Is this a good Montessori cc? -

Yesterday he drew some animals like bear, dog & cat on paper and write the phonic sound beside it. In addition, I'll teach him to spell out the letters. I think the teacher will teach him blending soon.
