Just one eatery. A shop. Nothing fanciful but the food's nice. They won accolades from the TV food review show before. But let me clarify, the amount is what they made. I have not gone into the costs. Generally, they're faring well.
that's called turnover. \"What they have made\" should be called Net Profit. The difference is very great. -

for all u know, maybe closed down already LOL won't be surprised, with competition so tough, costs so high, and fees unchanged for so many years.
In fact, i remember what my dad paid for my tuition 15 years ago, is the same as rates today.
Can survive, cannot HUAT wan, this business, don't say those few exceptions.
Unless u consider $4K to $6K a month damm good money, then i got nothing to say LOL -

I was reading this thread from the beginning and found it to be very interesting. Most interesting are the very diverse success and failure stories. Thought it may be useful for me to contribute something here. Basically the skills set to be a successful entrepreneur are different from that needed to be a very good tuition teacher. To run a successful business like a tuition centre, one has to be good in marketing, finance, interpersonal skills in managing other tutors, innovation, etc. In other words, multidisciplinary management skills. In fact it should not be surprising that the more successful entrepreneur is not a good tutor at all. Having said that, it does not mean that someone who is a good tutor cannot develop to be a successful entrepreneur. If the person is willing to learn the new skills required, then chances of success are better.
