      Hi Mickey,

The most important thing to do now is to strengthen his foundation. He may be despaired that he cannot read notes properly and has to spend a lot of time figuring out the notes to practise the piece properly.

Is he in a group lesson or 1-1?
Yes, he is having 1-1. The problem is that I also don't know much about piano. How can I strengthen his foundation so tot of switching school.

Icic, maybe you would like to check with his teacher how come his foundation is not strong, is there anyway the teacher can help him? Or discuss with the admin if they can change another teacher etc.

keyboard and piano are different touching

if parents willing to play long term in piano (or have exam), better start from piano.
keyboard is very soft touching will make the student's hand spoilt
play piano, need strong hand (not power from body) but power from han only.
some of my student, practise with keyboard. Than after a week, they never practise anymore. Because for (young children) them, they already can feel and recognize keyboard is different sound and different length from piano

Buy piano still can sell (have value), buy keyboard just can sell it at karong goni man.

              GOOD LUCK 🙂

                Hi,

My boy will turn 4yo this nov. He has been attending keyboard class in his full day childcare ctr since beg Mar 09. I was told by his teacher that he can curl his fingers … something good , i guess.

I am just wondering should I enrol him in some music school (group / 1-1)to learn piano or engage a 1-1 ptd teacher.

Any recommendation for good teacher in the east?

                Any advise.

My 6 year old girl has been practicing on the electronic keyboard at home since she started to learn piano in April this year. She still enjoys practicing on the electronic keyboard now.

What you wrote about the differences is certainly important. I plan to buy a piano when she passed her grade 1 and grade 2 exams 😉
