HI, also looking to go Korea. Main focus: ski trip and theme parks with as little traveling around as possible. Have gone through some itinerary, and narrowed to Chan Brother and Five Stars. Quite like the itinerary from Five Stars, but not too sure about the quality of food and accommodation. Anybody has any feedback on the agency? Or any other recommended agency?

          hi,

just to share with you a piece of info about seoul subway (mrt).

the subway stations aren’t big on escalators. a lot of the exits still require you to climb the stairs. there are stations with lifts, but the lifts may not take you to the exits you want. stations like namdaemun and dongdaemun have quite a few exits and if you have a particular place in mind, you have to take note of the exit or you might get really confused.

so if you’re travelling with very young children, or with strollers, please keep this in mind.

from personal experience, the koreans are very gracious and most of the time, someone would offer to help me carry the stroller up the stairs. still, we may not be able to count on it every time.

          enjoy your trip!

              insider:
If bigger group, such as 4 and above, maybe good to go free & easy in the sense cheap and good under this tour guide:
Hi Insider, Can you share how much did you pay in total? We probably have at least 4 adults and 2 kids. The package I checked with various agents range from 1560 - 1800 for adult. This easily adds up to $10k for 6 of us.

                Hi all

I would like to bring my 2 kids (5 years and 33mths) for a week long holiday to Korea probably in early Dec. But i am quite hesitant as i am not sure if they can take the coldness there since they are very prone to flu and cough. I guess it will only be on a F&E as a tour will be too hectic and thinking of going only to the theme parks and some shopping in Seoul itself.

Do you think it is a good idea to go during early Dec? Please share your experiences.

                Thanks.

                  Hi All,

Going Korea in December 2009 with my DS (6 Years Old). Any idea where can get winter wear for kid? Advisable to buy in Singapore or in Korea?

Would be going with a group tour & now trying to guess what should I bring. Adults should be able to take the coldness, for child I guess better they wear more in order to fight the cold.

Since you're going on a group tour, you're not likely to have time when you land to shop for winter wear. Buy while in SG..coldwear, wintertime or even some warehouse in kaki bukit will have nice winter wear for kids. If skiing, don't forget water proof pants, unless rental is provided. or at least jeans are worn and the kid is so pro that he doesn't land on his butt too much.

                    Have fun!

                        Hi,

We were looking at this too initially. Is this offered by Ad Travel??? I called several and only they offer to fly by China Eastern. I was asking the guy if we can do SIN-SHH by SQ (as there was $518 promotion till 7th Sept) and the rest via China eastern. No offence but my family are concerned about china airlines. My hubby was like NO, btw, even to taiwanese airline like Eva Air. But China eastern is one of the more reputable china airlines.

I checked with my colleague who is a korean and currently working in Spore. She said only Jeju is not cold. The rest of the places are cold. But it’s something diff from Spore (think she had enough of our hot weather). Meanwhile for theme parks like everland and lotte world, despite the weather, there are indoor play area if you are bringing kids. But I heard that lotte world is not worth going as some find it "boring".

For us, we just booked gold coast pkg last sunday. My hubby was like korea is so expensive ???, I am sure we can go further for that budget… So we explored gold coast and well, it appeared that the price difference wasn’t that significant, kids can enjoy theme parks and we can save on buying winter clothing esp for kids.
