umm, big fish, I’m still a while away from collecting my ‘lao lang kad’, but yes, I already am concerned that once I hit some magic numbers, employers are going to turn away.

I think 80 may be a tad old also. But it depends on the person.

And yes, I HAVE done accounting before. At a higher level, one nonid to pore through the figures. For large figures like possibly the reserves of SG, reports will be submitted. I don’t think even a 30yr old Pres will have the energy or enough eye power to make sure all are correct.

          Strparent:

An opportunity has arisen for us, but so many cannot care less.
I know this is not GE, but the recent GE 2011 has crafted out some changes, some actions by the ruling party, which many people has voiced out before to no avail.

Some are urging the people to replicate their astonishing triumph and spectacular gains in GE 2011, by reminding them that, for the first time in electoral history, they were able to make the powerful PAP government listen to their pleas and demands for changes / reviews in unpopular policies, including the hated ministerial salaries. They even 'retired' several unpopular ministers showing that they do listen. Only when they see the votes swing, then they act. Else, it would have been status quo.

This coming Presidential Election represents the people's best possible chance to INDIRECTLY reinforce and extend these gains, one that may not come again.
Agree. First time apologise. First time said they are \"servants\". Don't you agree that PA lifted the restriction immediately is to avoid votes lost by PAP endorsed TT; after he said HDB must have made a mistake and asked for fairness.

the whole speech she was talking about herself and how good she want or think the nation can be
            nothing related about the PE
more like promoting herself during an interview :slapshead:

'I don't Know what to say'

wah, I like this speech by Lim Boon Heng ( not the PAP LBH, a normal citizen speaking at TKL rally yesterday  )

you have always been a nice observant contributor, thanks for all your pointers. Now that you mentioned, yalor - same mould - young 'wild chicks' ( swar kueh 🦆 ) praising themselves.

                    Big fish:
Thanks for the updates about TCB. LOL, now more confused liao!

Maybe saturday I will need to \"tee kum\"....
I came across this article in TOC, which I thought may help clear some of your doubts, but it will help if you have watched the forums too, and you can form your own opinion of each of the candidates (in case you haven't). Here is the link:

I guess her study in Japan must be sponsored / on some scholarship. Now "repay" time. Her ranks in mediacorp will rise very fast.

She intentionally wear the same specs as TT?

I guess by now, it is clear that my vote is NOT going to TT, not even if I get drunk ! and I dont even drink, LOL.

Mr Tony Tan claimed always that the EP must be independent and above politics. He has a hard case to prove that he is, due to his previous alliances. I am sure he is a nice fella, but he cannot convince many that he will be impartial imho.

in reference to the exhange btw TT and TJS during the FTF recently by TOC.[quote]From Luckytan, Diary of a Singaporean Mind

If you want a president who stands for justice and fairness, you really have to really have to ask yourself whether you can find it in someone who supports and justifies the draconian ISA. No other developed county has it or need such a legislation to ensure peace and security for its people. It was Tony Tan's opportunity to show his independence and he blew it.
