Hi all, my gal will be going to chij oln next yr. I hv heard some horror stories abt bullying , girl girl relationship and was wondering if anyone hv any idea how to deal with such problems....

My gal also will going to chij oln next yr. So worried when I saw this thread. Who told you those horror stories abt bullying? If this is the case, to report to form teacher or principal will be helpful ?
Also not many threasd commented on this school, Is this school academically strong? Compared to other schools in Hongang and Sengkang area, like Punggol primary school, compassvale primary school, will this school have any distingtive advantage? Understood from the PLSE score statistics, they are really not good at Maths and Science.

HI,my gal is in OLN and i am a parent volunteer there. To assure you,the gals are very well mannered and if there is a case of bullying, the teacher will investigate the matter immediately and get back to the parents involved.so not to worry...Their principal is very dynamic in languages, thus although the statisics shows the average results in Math and Science, the teachers are indeed trying their hardest to increase the results..hence,it also depends on the ability of different child...distingtive advantage-as what i have noticed, this is a school that involves a lot of parents' volunteers and help which bonds the school, the parents and the girls to make the school a better envoironment to strive in...a warm welcome to OLN!

hi,you are most welcome! My gal is P1 this year but i have 11 girls studying in OLN now staying at my block!Hehe, and i got most informations from the school’s head prefect who stays next to my unit…plus ,all of them are well mannered and very happy studying in OLN…In fact,i am very proud of them…Dun worry, though i should say their cca is not that special and they do not have a big field to run free during P.E and recess time, this sch does provides good moral teachings and education…Cheers!

                Hi Mummies,

I would like to check with you regarding different ‘IJ’ schools’ standards.
My daughter is at IJ TP (P1) and there are 3 tests - May, Aug and Oct…EL/CL Oral included. Is this the same at other IJ schools ? A bit breathless with so many tests whole year…too ‘ON’ in my opinion.

                    Sweetie,
                    I didn't expect this at P1.

My dd is in St Nick's (P3). Back in P1, they did not have any formal exams. If I'm not mistaken, they still do not have CAs/SAs for the P1s now. What dd had were pop quizzes/assessments that were given throughout the year without prior notice. In fact, I remember that they do not explicitly tell you which scores would be included officially so even after you get the papers back, you would not know if the scores count or not.

Assessment of the students were done through this together with daily work and assignments like show-and-tell. For mummy here, I just have to make sure that dd revises her work consistently and is prepared for any unofficial tests thrown her way. For dd, P1 was like a year-long party and she had a blast 😄

                        Hi Everyone,

We will be registering our daughter for primary one next year. Just wondering, being Catholics, does that mean that we will automatically be in phase 2B regardless of which convent school we choose?

                        Yes.

Will there be ballot for phase 2B for Catholics or its a secure place?
