Should you do this for grill pans too?
Did you oil the pan first? You pour a lot of oil on it, then you heat it up... and cool it down and heat it up and cool it down. This will leave a patina of oil. Try not to wash with soap to get rid of this patina. It is what makes it non-stick and also protects it from rust. -

You don't wash the LC pot with soap? How to \"tahan\"? I do get the rust issue on the rim of the pot. Btw, how to get rid of discolouration on the enamel inside the pot? -

Do watch out for the cut out coupon sales at Isetan for LC. You might see a 60-70% off. I got my 18cm saucepan at $99 and 25cm french oven at $189.
I got my LC during the Isetan promo. Really worth it. It was 50% discount + additional 10% for members during their 1 day members' special. I remembered doing my \"field work\"
early this year - walking around Isetan, Tangs and Taka and with Isetan's 1 day members special, it had the best bargains available at that time.
Worth checking it out.
I'm still very tempted to get another bigger pot but I always use this % discount to sway me away as there is no end to my wants of LC pots. I think it is ok to stop at 2 :boogie:
LC not suitable for dishwasher. -

I do this for all my cast iron cookware... of which I have 2 - the cast iron wok and the LC. I know it sounds icky never to wash with soap, but I reckon it's ok 'cos these pots go through high heat to cook food. They get sterilised at every use... and I don't have a rust problem as long as the patina of oil coats every part of the cookware.

As long as the patina is robust, then it will be non-stick. If there is sticking, you can put a bowl of water and switch on some gentle heat, then use a wooden spatula to gently remove the debris.

Yup... the LC has an enamel coating that I dun wanna scratch so I use a soft sponge. I actually use a metal scrub on the wok which is solid cast iron.
Thanks Chenonceau. So how do you wash it after cooking? Just rinse with water?
