      TTLauPeh:
Anyone knows if schools really bother if P6 kids skip a few days of school after the PSLE exams? Thinking of taking ours to CHina for a week (including weekend) just after the exams. Thanks.

I know some parents take the chance to go on hols right after PSLE exams because the school will not \"teach\" - probably will have more \"fun\" kind of activities. Just check with form teacher what he/she will do in the week after exam just to be doubly sure.

I have already booked the tickets and I think we will miss the registration date (23 Dec). Can anyone advise me what will be done on registration date. Besides doing registration, any other application or decision should be made on that day? We can always buy books and uniform later. Thanks!

I think it is necessary to be in the school to register personally. If not you need to prepare a letter for someone's else to do it. You are confident that your child will be allocated to the correct school ? It is risky not to be there to ensure that your child is confirmed of a place of your choice 😓

There is a form you can download or take from booklet 2 (i think) to send a proxy to register for your child at the posted school.

That person can also take the posting results from your child's pri school for you on the posting day.

I did that last time when we were away for our eldest. We left the books/uniform buying to another day. The proxy can also put in the applications for special programmes in the school for you. Our proxy SMS'd to ask us. She attended the briefings in the school n SMS if our child wanted to apply for MEP.

Thank you mummyjoyce and phankao! I will ask the proxy to attend the briefings and communicate with us by SMSs. My child’s case is quite simple, he will go to DSA school, so he doesn’t need to do transfer. Thanks!
