Looking for better 2nd & 3rd tier Secondary Schools
-
Am I right that Secondary school - whether band 1,2,3... - this information can only be found in S1 posting booklet ?
I've checked MOE school info system, no information of bands. -

Mamo:
Though Chung Cheng Yishun COP is lower than YTSS, it is band 3 whereas YTSS is band 5. Both are in the range of 230 to 240. In this instance, as some parents have suggested in the earlier and other threads, we should choose the sch with a better band grade.
Mamo, fyi, Chung Cheng Yishun is listed as a band 3 school in the 2012 S1 posting booklet. If you have the 2011 S1 posting booklet, it is listed as band 6 in there.
It can be something they are doing right that results in such a big improvement jump, or it can also be just pure lucky like spotting the right topic / questions (not trying to be skeptical but it is anyone's guess!).
Just want to highlight this fact as most parents may not have the 2011 S1 posting booklet and may not be aware of this \"big discrepancy\" - usually most school is within 1 band difference only. Thought it is something worth noting for those interested in the school.
Thanks for your info. Didn't know abt it. However, I don't think that they high jump from Band 6 to 3 is due to luck cos that's as good as striking toto. -

Thank you VC's mum for sharing.
Seems like only Chung Cheng High Main and Chung Cheng Yishun are affiliated to Nanyang JC. -
For those who have past years’ Posting Booklet, mind sharing past year’s banding for these schools please? Much appreciated.
Yishun Town, CHIJ St. Joseph’s Convent, CHIJ Sec SCh (TP) and Presbyterian High.
Thank you. -

I always say a number by itself cannot say much, but a list of related relevant numbers speaks volume. Statistics shows a trend - this school has been improving over the years. -
