I don’t know why if I put 7801 (NUS High) into the option list, it shows ‘Invalid’. NUS High is so special?

Hi everyone!
I got 267 for PSLE with 4 A*s and merit for hcl. I am going to RGS as I already accepted the DSA CO there. Anyway, 267 qualifies for third Lang, right? I am really not sure coz I am overseas now and my grandma collected my results for me, so I haven’t received the S1 option form. And which third Lang should I choose? So far I am thinking of choosing Japanese. Any ideas?
Also, do you know whether third Lang is very stressful and whether I should apply for it? Please advise, I am only a kid!
My best friend scored 252 (excluding HCL, I think tho not very sure). Do you think she qualifies for third Lang? I am not sure coz I didn’t ask her yet, mainly coz I am overseas.
Please someone reply soon! And thanks so much in advance!!! -

For the past 2 years, NYGH COP is higher than RGS. So it is not true to say that if she gets 263, she will be average in NYGH and below average in RGS. And it doesn't really matter whether you go in as average, below average or whatever. As long as you meet the COP, you are good enough for the school. And everything starts from scratch again. You are not going to compare your T-score with your secondary school friends anymore. Maybe first 2 weeks, after that, nobody talks about it anymore.
My dd got 263+2. She got A for chinese and 3A* for the other subjects. She wants to go RGS with her friends but I prefer NYGH as it is nearer. Her score will be in the average range in NYGH but below average in RGS. I am worried that even if she can get into RGS, she will be given low priority treatment in RGS.
My preference: NYGH, RGS, NJC
Her preference: RGS, NYGH, NJC
What is more important, is to choose a school that you will fit well in, that you like the culture and programme because you will be in there for the next 6 years. -

A friend got 225 and is in Indian Dance. Will she get into St Margarets, Kranji, CHIJ St Theresa’s, swiss cottage, Dunman if she appeals? Please indicate which is the best for her to choose.

Hi Snow Crystal
Can you help me? My DD 259+3, will choice NYGH to her first choice, previous she take part in NYGH DSA, But no interview, do not know why? So I need Appeal for Admission for NYGH, or no need? -

Hihi...NYGH S1 public COP is higher than RGS due to lesser places allocated to public after catering to its affiliated NYPS girls who can enter into NYGH with a much lower affiliated COP of 250. So last scorer in NYGH is 250 or 247+3. On the other hand, RGS last scorer is 260(2010). Thus 263 is indeed average to above average in NYGH and below average in RGS. But I totally agree with the rest of your text

. Very good advice. Indeed, everything starts from scratch once you step into the IP. The PSLE score is history...

Would anybody have any ideas on preference between SJI and VS? COP-wise he would qualify for both. We live in Hougang - neither school is close by.
Any definitely advantage of one over the other?
Thanks in advance.[/quote]
VS!!! If he does really well for the 2 years, he can opt for the IP program from year 3. -

SJI is near SCGS, on Whitley Road. Not that far from Clementi. Maybe 15-20 min by car?
Initially we didn't know where is SJI located.Otah:
How about SJI? Thot they also have SBGE? Your ds can use the EESIS there. RVH has no SBGE but I think DHS has.
Thought it is quite far from our place near Clementi.
After looking at the map, it seems not too far. -

Aiyah! The principal should have been more careful with his announcement.Btw when my son's principal announce in the hall that 67 out of 69 pupils from the school were successful in DSA, we were so happy.
Late on we found out that in his class alone, there were at least 4 unsuccessful with DSA.
Think they include WL as suceesful.
