If I'm not mistaken, there were the days when the COP for RGS & NYGH were around 265-266. A few years before the 2009. I'm not about to go on a search for proof on this, but this is what I recall....maybe some parents who've had kids taking PSLE around that time period can remember?
Yes, COP for RGS was around 265/266 in the years preceding.tisha:
Hi, I would to ask, do you know what is the highest COP for RGS in the recent years?
263 - 2009 Sec 1 intake
260 - 2010 Sec 1 intake
260 - 2011 Sec 1 intake
I do not know previous to that, sorry. But there could be others here who might know.
BTW, there are a few people missing this year, esp 25hourmaid. Last year I was a silent reader and remember her advising and guiding a lot of students and parents. Also where are Vanilla_cake, brenda10, lizawa, verykiasu2010... :boogie: -

NJC stopped its Year 3 DSA intake about 2-3 years ago. Not sure if they accept transfer students at Year 3. Maybe phankao can confirm this?jasmineyak:
My DD scored 249+2. We intend to put Cedar as her 1st choice. Do you think if she stands any chance? Her choices in sequence are:-
1) Cedar (not sure if IP or non-IP)
2) St Nicholas
3) Chung Cheng High
4) SCGS
5) TKGS
6) Crescent Girls
Any recommendation or suggestion in the order sequence?
We stayed in the North. Please feel free if any gd/bad comments.
Thanks for all your help
Watch out for the travelling time which is more than 2 hrs in yr 5 at VJC. A- level exam which is exceedingly far more critical, she does not hve the luxury of spending so much time on the road. At this juncture, u may be just thinking of IP, but do consider the the longer term implication.
My opinion is ST. Nicks is a better proposition and if she does well, can consider switching to NJC IP at yr 3. Given her T-score, taking 0-level and exceling at it will provide her with more confidence taking her A-level. -

It was shocking and the news covered it. That year, everyone avoided RGS because the previous year's COP was sky high. I think it must be before 2005. Anyway, given the current system and policy, it is always no harm putting whatever school you like as first choice, and then make sure you have two very 'safe' school down the line. You'd never know. You might get lucky or really unlucky.tisha:

NJC took in it's last batch of Year 3s for the 2010 Sec 3s cohort.

VJC is taking in it's last batch of Year 3s for the Year 2012 Sec 3s cohort. They will no longer be conducting DSA for Year 3s from next year onwards. -

Do you have a DSA offer at hand that you have accepted? If not, you are eligible for S1 posting and do not need to go via appeal route. If your S1 posting is rejected, then you can consider appeal to the sch.
The current appeal route is for those who has accepted a DSA offer previously, but decided to appeal to their preferred sch with their PSLE score. -

He does not have any DSA offer. So just submit the S1 form right? I think I understand it already. Thanks!benleetube:

phankao, my sincere feedback, 258 need not appeal, RGS will reject, you can imagine the long Q. My DD is in RGS. Last year, S1 posting, her best friend got 266, she made a mistake & chose DHS as 1st choice. Of course she got DHS, guess what? After posting results confirmed, she immediately went to RGS to appeal. It was not successful. My sincere sharing, please make sure the choice is right, there is no room for error! Don’t waste the 1st choice,

Er.... VALyap - I think you are addressing to the wrong forum member. I have no on-going appeal and my current p6 is not participating in S1, and furthermore, my p6 is a boy. RGS wouldn't want him! HAHA.
