I did not hear anything about this too, although it would be nice if this is true!MummySTay:
Heard from a fren that sec sch will start later (9 Jan) instead of 1st week. Is that true for all schs or only certain schs?
Hi Pen, which schools have you heard of that may start later? So far, I have not heard anything on that.
I don't think govt schools have such a freedom, unless the decision comes from MOE. The possible ones should be the independent schools.

Like I mentioned earlier in reply to this question, the only school I know that does this is NJC -

PSLE 2011 parents, please let your kids enjoy what's remaining of this year before hectic 2012 Year 1 starts. Hug and hold hands more with them till then before they become busy, turn awkward or worse, create teenage woes...
My fren appealed to HCI and worried about when they know outcome. HCi told her sch start on 9 Jan, and they will know the appeal outcome anytime after 23 Dec, so will not miss sch on 1st week.
