Muted as in no overnight camps as compared to some other schools?

Personally, I prefer the overnight camp to be held in March rather than during orientation as it would be stressful for some kids to stay away from home just when they are trying to settle into a new environment and new classmates. By March, these kids would probably have found their friends, and enjoy the camp more.

Thought the canoeing experience was good for class bonding and finding out who are the leaders and good team players.

Haha. She comes across as a hands-on principal, not just as a figure head. I also like the fact that she always involves her senior team.

Do you find that the orientation in Nanyang is somewhat muted as compared to others?

Me too, DD1 in Sec 2 this yr. She’s looking forward to the boarding experience so she can spend more time with her classmates and best friends.

Hi. I am a year 1 mum. Is boarding in school compulsory for year 2 girls ? If so, for how long? Thanks

Also, is there anything that you "experienced" mums can highlight and guide us "new" mums along? Many thanks.

Wah, 4 weeks!! I am sure it will be a positive experience for mums and daughters but right now, it’s unthinkable for me… maybe next year by this time I will be more mentally prepared.

Did you have to guide your daughters much in their first year? Is there somewhere that I can check their schedules such as examination dates, camps.

                  Thanks.

Hi, another Year 1 mum here! Is anyone going for the IPAD session this Sat?

As for the boarding school, I recalled reading somewhere that the gals are allowed to go back during weekends or even weekday evenings for their private lessons like piano, etc?

yes, they are allowed to go back on weekend. and the girls are allowed to go private lessons, tuition. but not on Friday night as school has program for them. Sat morning also has activities to attend.

To me I am very happy about that (幸灾乐祸), cant imagine how messy her bed will be…hahaha
