I am staying at Hazel Park, very near to Bukit Panjang Primary. Have visited the school a few times to pick up my niece (now Sec 1) and enquire about PV before.

My niece experience in school is very good and peaceful. The children seems less rowdy too.

btw, within 1K of SV...ie around the area of the sch also includes The Warren, Northvale, Palm Gdns & part of Villa Verde. Hmmmm....wonder if the children behave differently? :scratchhead:

I PV in SV b4 my son went in & PV as a parent with my son's P1 class a few times last yr. My take is that yes there were rowdy kids...but they were just behaving as children shld, having fun. Yup, they get reprimanded by teachers. But of course if it's really serious kind of behaviour, I'm sure the sch will take action. The children will learn that they will be responsible of their own actions...do wrong, get punished. They are 'going out' into the 'real world' afterall.

Oh.... the popular boy's sch where my fren's son was bullied is among landed houses in the East.

            Yes, I agree.

There will be kids running here and there, especially Boys which are more active.

My P6 nephew has inform me earlier that he has spoken to the P3 girl after my boy has pointed to him. The P3 girl is very angry and "marked" my son as he has accidentially bump into her without saying sorry during recess. The teacher is informed and the P3 girl’s parents as well. This is not her first offence, the principal has given a sever warning.
Hopefully my son will get over it. Still crying today to school, and refuse to change to his uniform. I think he is affected very badly emotionally.

Didn’t get to see his teachers or form teacher yesterday and today during assembly. There was 2 teachers at the assembly to take care of the whole P1 session. Was thinking it would be good if the teacher can check on him instead leaving him there alone to cry.

How should I keep in touch with them and check on my son’s progress.

You go to the sch website under Our People, click on the teacher's pic to get their email address to email them. But response may be slow. Alternatively, call sch gen office leave msg for teacher to call u back.

Not sure if ur class blog is up, my P2 class blog already up this wk. Each class has a class blog another platform to communicate but this is not so private in a sense the rest of the parents in the class can read ur feedback.

For 1st wk of P1, they wld be dismissed at sch hall. Class will be brought to the hall by the teacher. Maybe u can try to catch her there.

Really wish ur son will get over this emotional distress n start to enjoy his P1 life. My son had tremendous fun except for the dreaded H work ... Homework 🙂

                  Hi Oneheart,

know someone will bombard me on this ... I don't mean it to be a negative statement but a thought. I've sat in a school meeting before whereby cases of students needing help were discussed. School mgt spoke of how to help the families in need. What I'm trying to say is families with financial problems or other family problems have their worries and the children may be affected. I may be too judgemental by putting it down this way though.

I've PV too before son went in and I was a little surprised when I first encounter the students - rowdy and playful. But kids come in various sorts and one has to keep in mind that they are just kids. My usual encounter with the kids after that are just that - a lot of running, talking, ignoring teachers at times bcos they are busy talking ... but I've seen good - eg, a supposed \"naughty\" girl in my son's class took up a broom to sweep the classroom floor after class even though teacher didn't ask her to do so.

Oneheart, your class has a blog? Mine doesn't have, so far, never have a blog 😞

                  GKmum,
btw, I've met 2 kids in Bukit Panjang Pri who scolded foul language at me... me, not my kids. They said it behind my back in a lift as I took a longer while to exit. I won't say much though of the children there bcos I've not stepped into that school before.

And I thot P1 and P3 have different recesses. Try to talk to your son more abt other happenings in school - talks about those that makes him look forward to going to school. And teachers do get back by email; they've got a turnaround time to abide to to get responses back to parents.
