DS showed me his first Math Test yesterday, and I nearly fainted…

The test was upon 20 marks, and the boys had to complete it in 10 minutes (what a feat!)…
DS couldn’t complete all the questions, hence he performed really badly (weep weep)…
Any mummies had the same shock as I had?

Thankfully it's a math quiz, marks not counted. Although it's 8 questions, but each question has 2 or 3 parts right? How to finish in 10 mins? ds did badly. Due to time constraint, he rushed through and made many careless mistakes. Is it going to be like that for major tests and exams?

Maybe they are training the boys on 'speed & accuracy'.. My DS has 'accuracy' but not 'speed'.. DS says the teacher has assured them that it wouldn't be like that in the exam.. Phew!

Btw, DS' RE group didn't meet up for discussion last Friday, as 2 of his group members went back to their primary schools (which are very far from RI), and they decided not to return to RI for the discussion.

Only DS and another boy went back to RI (after visiting their primary school), so they decided to cancel the meeting. Then DS went back to his primary school again, which was just a street away from RI. Very convenient, haha!

Primary school, secondary school, third lang and in a few year's time, JC.

Most IP parents would have experienced similar shocks before haha...aiyo the clever PSLE-smart ah boy how come juz pass or even can fail IP tests :frustrated: Vks said it's a quiz and if so, don't worry too much. Good to have shocks - wake the kids from slumberland. End of good times and slackness. Would believe either your boy did not prepare well for the test or it's some surprise last-minute quiz. Your heart will henceforth grow stronger
