...Anyway, heard from my counsin on the latest new.... there are overall 5 student decided to withdraw.,.....now the Principal hold the meeting with all the PVs who did not get in...and asked the question \"How many hours did you clock?\" Hmmm.. kinda of hint hint you right? However, they cannot commit to anyone yet...waiting for October to finalise everything..NOW all the PV are busy clocking hours!!!! This is indeed very stressful...morever there are no guarantee.

I thought the proper way should be to either:
      1. open the places for Phase 3, and parents who did not get a place so far can bid for them again, or
      2. assign them to people who are in the waiting list in a 1st come 1st served fashion?

you mean hinting that places are available for those who clock in the most hours? I thought all PVs must already finish clocking the hours and the school should have records.

Yes, they are still doing PV. Depend when you have \"pledge\" to complete the volunteer. My cousin have already pledge to do it till end Nov when she signed up 2 years ago.

The 5 withdrawal happen only way after the registration closed. Many PV appeal to the school..... after all the hardwork, time and effort spent and didn't even get the chance to ballot.

I'm not sure nor do I have the right to comment how the school will handle the case....

Anyway, my cousin have already got a school of my nephew in a neighbouring school near her house under Phase 3. Well, I guess all parents are the same. They definitely want the BEST for their kids. Even if there is a slightest chance to try..they will do ALL THE WAY. This is parent's LOVE. ๐Ÿ˜„

But ur cousin already clocked 300 hours right? Would be really hard to beat or even match that right? I really pity the pvs. At least if no chance then they would just give up, rather than now got to start the stress all over again.

And yes I would agree schools with no clans/associations would be a better bet to place ur pv bet on.

Does anyone know upon completion of 40 hours of PV with the School is there any certification letter being given?

Does PV have a time card to punch in & out like factory worker standard?

Maybe different for different schools, but for my case yes, they sent us a letter about a week before 2B registration starts to indicate we have completed 40 hrs and we brought that letter along during registration.

And we have a timesheet whereby we indicate Time in, Time out, Activity etc and submit that to the person i/c during each activity to endorse and sign. End of each month we will submit the original to the admin office to keep and we get a photocopy for reference.

                      Need some advice.

Is it possible that one does some volunteer work and then donโ€™t get called for more jobs and so does not meet the 40 hours requirements?

Actually, we did some work for a school then it went quiet. When I called, I was told it was a bit difficult to qualify unless can find other work to do. I sensed that chances are really low. How?

How does the grassroots thing work? Must be RC member of that estate is it? Must I live there? Can I live elsewhere but become RC member of that estate? So RC member will be in Phase 2B right?

Absolutely possible. PV is, like what the Cantonese say, \"่‡ชๅทฑไฟ้‡\". The school is not going to keep track of whether you are doing enough to satisfy the requirements. You are responsible to look for opportunities to contribute and negotiate for activites to be counted towards PV hours.

Personally, since you are already PV and have done some hours, I think it is better for you to cook up some contributions that you can do for the school to bring up the hours, and work with the school to get them to support your ideas. It could be some course, excursion, celebration, etc. Something that the school needs and appreciates
