insider:
Realise after the Man reach their achievement in life ...emmm...this case reminds me of a male friend of mine whom I ever shared in some other posts.
Friend, about 48 years old currently, successful in career, with a U grad wife and two lovely kids, enjoy prostitution.
Legal or illegal, he will go for 'fixes' now and then. Used to be more regular when he was younger but now think 'tamer'.
His reason is wife is not 'hot' enough and will never 'co-operate' with him in the 'stunts' that he wants and so he finds it 'justifiable' to pay for services. (His theory: wife must be 'decent' and so sexual fantasies are not wife's job to satisfy.)
His position is such that he doesn't go around sleeping with friends' girlfriends/spouses or go around molesting others or find under-aged girls and he meets his needs by paying and so that should not be 'too bad'.
A nice husband, father, child (to his parents), and friend to have (see such an 'honest' man who can share with his childhood friends about his 'hobby' and as friends, we don't judge him at all...)
Maybe the principal involved in the case belongs to the same 'category' just that unfortunately he gets caught...
Men...come in many colours...
if nothing excite or challenge him .....
his next target is ...another woman/girl in watever form..
It's the thrill of new conquest, excitment and boost to the male libido

no need to divorce, just sleep separate bedroom.

Cannot be too dominated by feminine energy leh....otherwise all the boys will become sissies. Then how?
MBS principal is a lady and has been there for many years.... On hindsight, might be better to have female principals :? So far the scandals involve man at the top.
Anyway, what is the big deal? Ong Teck Chin already set up his own IB tuition centre...Singapore is small but people forget very quickly...he didn't kill or harm anyone right?
Then education sector might just be a dim prospect for male applicants in future. -

I agree with your views. Like the other forumer who posted earlier said, if we cannot control our urge and lust, we are no different from animals.who says he's not doing harm except to himself ?
men who visit prostitutes are ... irresponsible husband, irresponsible father.
men like to fantasize, go for hot babe, hot chick. Those chick in high popular demand means many customers had \"shared\" before, likely to catch VD disease. When sleep with wife later, he transmit VD disease to her, poor innocent victim. Once someone in the family catch VD / Aids virus, harmonious family unit is destroyed. wife blame husb for passing VD or Aids to her, children blame father for causing hurt to their poor mother.
Can't understand the argument of it is ok to be morally corrupt so long you can do your work professionally. It is like saying my spear is the strongest and can penetrate any shield but at the same time, also say my shield is the strongest and cannot be penetrated by any spear! No man is an island. Our actions, interactions with others bounce to have an effect on other parties one way or the other. More so if you are a principal or a politician.
More people will engage in such activities if the society is acceptance to the view of it is ok to be morally imperfect so long you can function professionally. For a start, there will be more divorces which mean more children will grow up in a broken family without proper guidance. More social issues will be created down the stream like domino effects.... kids join street gangs, drop out from schools, can't find a decent job entering adulthood and become criminal...
Go on, argue that even after divorce so long the father/mother keep up with the maintenance, custody visits, etc and it is ok to divorce. Just like it is ok to be morally unsound but still can work professionally. Be my guest. -
Err.. the quote above is not from me. :scratchhead:

I felt quite sad for the principal n his family.
He was the vice principal of my boy’s school before he become the principal of xx SAP school. I vaguely remembered he conducted the parent’s briefing. He was eloquent n looked promising. He has the manly sporty look which girls will like .
His wife must have gone tho tremendous stress.
Whatever it is, I hope the family can pull though. -
civil activist of a prominent family - anyone knows?

Of course if you look at everything individually, it is no big deal. Drug abuse is no big deal, you only harm yourself. Steal from the rich is ok, after all, the rich has excesses. Anyhow litter is no big deal, how much rubish can I generate? But as a whole? Just take the case of drug abuse. It does appear if someone don't treasure his life and want to abuse drug, it is no big deal. However, if we look beyond a drug abuser, it involves drug trafficking, sydicate, pushers, money laundering, etc. We don't have to discuss the social cost of all these examples I cited. I believe you get my point.
Life is not only about black and white lah. It has many shades of grey.HVR:

What's wrong with divorce by the way? Divorce will sure harm kids? Kids in an always violent dual-parent family will definitely be better off than kids in a peaceful single-parent family? It is this old-fashioned thought of some that lead many couples and poor kids in miserable marriages and perhaps one day, one kills another to end the game.
I also don't agree with people who are involved in EMAs are ALL morally unsound...
Again, 清官难断家务事...
We are not robot, our actions reflect our values. Granted that a person who involved in vice, ema, etc might still be able to do his work professionally but I rather don't take chances. I don't know when he will compromise standard and value again for own interest. -

It is 2 different things. I wouldn't abandon my friend too if he is guilty of ema or visit prostitutes. But that doesn't mean ema or visiting prostitutes is no big deal or a right thing to do. Sometimes, we simply justifying and rationalising somethings which we clearly know is wrong. Period.
emm...your examples cited out of context...HVR:

Yes, it is a matter of whether people want to 'take chance', just like the same as I am 'taking chance' to still take my male friend who frequents prostitutes as a good friend coz I know he will be there anytime if any of us (childhood friends) needs his help. The 'brotherhood' / 义气 among us got nothing to do with his prostitution...We are not robot, our actions reflect our values. Granted that a person who involved in vice, ema, etc might still be able to do his work professionally but I rather don't take chances. I don't know when he will compromise standard and value again for own interest.
PS: Offhand, I think I know at least half of dozen of people who are involved in EMAs and only one of them I think is morally unsound while the rest they have their own 'legitimate' reasons to do whatever they are doing. Many times, EMA is just a 'loss of direction' and the straying one (be it wife or husband) will return in time... -
Prostituion cannot be compared to drug abuse. Otherwise, prostituion would have been banned by law. In fact, modern research proves that the social cost is lower if prostitution is legalised than to have it remain underground. That is the reason why it was legalised. Drug abuse cannot be legalised because it can harm lives just like motorists are against the law if they don’t wear helmets.
