UMF stands for Unique Manuka Factor, the antibacterial factor in Active Manuka Honey that is responsible for naturally destroying bacteria such as staph (staph aureus), strep (streptococcus) and H. Pylori (Helicobacter Pylori). Only Active Manuka Honey contains UMF®. That makes Active Manuka Honey the only honey shown to kill H. Pylori.

      The UMF is like antibacterials.

it is not advisable for young kids to take is bcos they are building up their immune- system.

Multivit that contains Omega 3 and 6, Bcomplex and Vit C would be better options.

Omega 3 and 6 is for brain development
      Bcomplex is for energy release
Vit C is for immunity and antioxidants.

      Hope this helps.

It is unsuitable for young kids? I thought most parents here are giving manuka to their kids?

Anywhere to get manuka at a reasonable price. The shops are selling like $100/kg for manuka.

Thanks for reply Gladys. Btw, are you in the health/medical field of sorts, or do you have any research data to back up any if this?

            Just curious....

            Thanks again
            Cheers

Three weeks I just bought one with UMF10+ 1 kg bottle from wonderfulhoney.com Manuka Honey on line, it taste good, price is $82 per Kg. I have compare to few shop in the market, like hock hau, Yurenshen, etc. But of coruse not the cheapest one. My girl used to very difficult to sleep and keep waking up in the night, I let her eat a small spoon of manuka, since last week till now, she sleep so well in the night. So I want to share it here.

Just started on manuka active 5+ and noticed that it has helped me fight against the flu bugs. Is it ok to take this 2-3 times daily for the long run?
