For recess, no lah, they buy their own food. They prefer to buy their food anyway.
You give your kids this for recess? Oh boy... I wish you MY Mom!!  :drool:Chenonceau:
Bread from Breadtalk, Four Leaf or your neighbourhood bakery should not harden that easily right?
How about Kueh Baulu, steamed cupcakes, muffins, a slice of chiffon cake, french toast, flavoured pancakes or waffle? Or make some Onigiri with Furikake. These should all able to last till 1pm.
Those plus more options like bread butter pudding, doughnuts, yam cake, samosa, ebelskivers, choux, etc are for their afternoon teabreaks.
The more stressed mummy gets, the more variety they have. :siao:
I hope my kids don't read this. At my most creative, they get youtiao. -
i’m actually hungry reading this…
great ideas, funz…
i’ll explore the onigiri one in a food jar… … -

I pack cereal for son. You know those small boxes of cereals from kelloge, nestle... Etc? I need to prepare breakfast/tea break for my child every mon/we'd/fri. As I am a full time working mum, I always end up buying buns the day before. Due to the length of time between buying the bun and child eating the bun, I don't really have a lot of choices (in terms of buns). Sometimes, worse - forget to buy. So I come up with this idea - cereal - as back up plan. My child eats cereal \"kosong\" I.e. Without pouring milk into cereal.Hi Mums
I pack a Sandwich for Daughter's recess and a snack box (assortment of biscuits) for bus journey home.
Any suggestions for a healthier snack box that will last until past 1 pm ?
Think all that processed food I give her as snack box will not be good for her long term.
The daughter said that bread will \"harden\" so will not eat it as part of snack box.
Anyone has other ideas? -

Wrap the sandwich with cling wrap before putting into the box. It will not \"harden\"Hi Mums

My girls love cereal kosong. As long as your kid loves it, i think it's fine. If you want to be creative with your cereal, you can bake honey joy, coco pop coat w honey (you can google the recipe - very easy & kids love them). I used to have to do all these stuff when i was in Aus as their tuckshop choices are boring. Nowadays, i thought kids love to buy recess food from their school tuckshop? I used to fried noodles, make soba, fry udon, make sushi, etc etc for their recess. Hehehehe.... all their classmates will crowd round dd to check out what's her food for recess

honey joy, coco pop, rice pop… can last till 1pm

Mine also prefer breakfast cereal kosong. And to add some variety to their breakfast cereal, I add mixed fruits/nuts.
Eg
Day 1 cornflakes with cranberries
Day 2 cocoa crunch with golden raisins
Day 3 rice krispies with currants
Day 4 cheerios with almond
Day 5 mixture of breakfast cereal/mixed fruits
No fixed \"recipe\", just mix and match. So that settles a week's menu
