I will be going to Malacca on a weekday during the school holiday. Can anyone advise whether Jonker Street night market will be open? I see from some websites that it is opened only on Fri, Sat and Sunday night. If it is not opened on weekday, what and where can we go in Malacca?

If in the mood to wait, can try Capitol lok lok. Satay steamboat very good. Bill is based on number of sticks consumed. The longer you stay, the bigger the seafood the staff ‘throws’ your way. I went there once at 530pm. Already queue till 3 shophouses away. But i like. Though young kids may not be able to take the spicy steamboat.

do u think they recycle the satay source. We were the 1st customer and only ones when we were there. After dinner, saw them carefully poured the satay sources in a container. Did ask them if they recycle although the answer is No. But their actions looked suspicious.

Hopely they are not like the si chuan steam boat where some stores actually recycle it back in china.

Duno and dun wan to think so hard.

Btw, family from Malaysia told us this. These days, it is not safe to leave your laptops or iPads in the car boot. Apparently, thieves have scanner that allows them to detect electrical stuff (even if turned off). Once they detect, they will then break the
Ock.mso out of sight not means out of reach. So better bring along on your body or leave them at home. I’m not sure how true this is, but better safe than sorry.

                    Hi Otah,
                    I just returned from Malacca.

If you are there with small family of 3-5pax, I highly recommended (1)Nancy Kitchen (located @ Jonker Street) as their serving is small and thus you can order more variety. Do remember to try their nonya kuih as they are really fantastic.

I think (2)Makko is also quite popular. I had wanted to try Makko, but it was already full-house when I reach at 6pm. So end up we went to (3)Ole Sayang. I find Ole Sayang's serving is bigger compared to Nancy Kitchen. Food is also yummy.

We brought MIL to Nancy’s but she finds Ole Sayang more authentic
