So taking UMF honey is like taking medicine? Any harm if taken daily esp for young children who need to build their immune system the natural way?

I wouldnt say manuka is medication. It is more like a supplement. Not necessary to take daily for young kids below 12. Maybe 3x a week, UMF 5 or 10. Teaspoon in the morn on empty stomach. -

May I know is mixing with hot water will reduce the effectiveness? There is no instruction on the container on how to take it.emerald:

I am not too sure about pregnant women though...some doctors do not encourage babies/kids below 6 to take honey. But manuka is not ordinary honey. Sorry cant help. Thanks janet_lee88.

The promoter for HNZ said to take a teaspoon every morn on empty stomach and then drink a little water after that. This way, it does not dilute the manuka. -
Pregnant women can take honey. But do not give children less than 1 year old due to fear of child botulism. Cos honey might contain the botulism spores, which is found in nature, will grow in the intestine and release in botulism toxin. Cos the infant stomach not strong enough to inhibit the spores from growing so dont give to infant. Try to wait longer to give infant lah. 1 year is average but all individual unique. so dont give so soon lah. Botulism can be serious.
Adult stomach strong, so no prob. can eat including pregnant lady. -
