Most schools will post the daily registration results in their own school website....you can check that out.
The info my MOE will be abit delayed (I guess due to updates by schools into the MOE website?)
Hi
I couldn't find any of the schools updating he current applications, if possible can u give the link please -
Not all schools will provide updates (phone or school website).
Rulang refused to entertain me when I called to ask for the number of applicants registered so far. Asked me to check on MOE website, which only has end-of-day statistics.
How do we know our application is successful?
Even if the number of applicants < number of vacancies, I feel that there should at least be some sort of confirmation given
-
Hi Saki,
Every school have different ways of updating. You have to visit the schoolβs website to see their updates (if any). Some schools will update the no. of registrations at mid-day and end of the day.
Otherwise, you will have to assess MOE website at end of the day to see the daily updates. -

Yes, no matter where the sch moves to temporary, its original premise will be used to determine the distance to your home. I think what Maxine means is that the number will surge up as the consideration for parents are now the distance travels to sch everyday.
Wherever the school moves to (temporary location), the original premise will be used as distance to your home. That's my understanding.janet_lee88:
If low chances (cos school moving back to old location so think more parents will be trying again versus 2 years ago), then will try CHIJ Bukit Timah or Yew Tee Primary.
Good luck to all fellow 2B-ers!
ya ya correct - thats what I mean. Thanks! -

I guess coz Rulang is too \"overly-subscribed\" hence they can't be entertaining such calls - given their higher than high take up rate, i won't be surprised they receive such calls every minute hence they'd rather not entertain such calls. Usually people will wait til end of 1st day, look at the number of applicants, then decide if they wanna go ahead with the same choice or switch to alternative school the next morning. To be fair to the school, we can't expect them to provide \"real-time\" update especially if the school is already very busy with the huge number of applicants streaming in.Not all schools will provide updates (phone or school website).

But since you mentioned you have already applied, means you are prepared to go for balloting (there are only 10 vacancies left in Rulang, surely a ballot is expected here)? If that's the case, what sort of confirmation are you after? The school (and parents) will only know the actual result (ie confirmation) after balloting.
Nonetheless, Good Luck on the application

Thr registration time is so long... I waited 1 hr n not my turn yet .. So- called popular sch ..:(

Hi YingYing,
I actually applied under 2A(2), so i presume the application was successful, even though I would be glad to receive a confirmation of some sort.
Email/SMS is probably too much to ask for. But maybe they can post something like \"All applicants under Phrase X are successful\" on their school website
Think I saw a Primary school website that did that.. can't remember which school though.
Of course, I do understand if they cannot provide real-time updates.
I was quite anxious as I was actually considering withdrawing the application if the number of applicants exceed the number of vacancies by a huge number, thus I was trying my luck in getting a mid-day number on the 2nd day.
In fact, I even went to the school personally just to check out the queue number, but was unable to get any info
Nonetheless, Henry Park was nice enough to provide a mid-day number
I wonder how successful/unsuccessful applicants will be notified under 2B if they are not able to be present during balloting though. -

There's also school bus service... Just have to fork out more $$$.
thanks for all the replies to my 'complaint'.weyw:
Sigh..hb wanted DD to go to school further so that his parents need not be responsible. But my parents already i their 70s, plus all the travelling. Think it will be a tiring 6 more years!

hmmm, ever consider student care if both of you are working?
Concern about student care is that we cannot reach there on time since there is a possiblity of OT.
Concern with school bus will be the long distance (you know, go into every street and drive of the housing estate before reaching home) which will tire out the child even before she reaches home. -

Perhaps, u have to consider if you can survive on a single income (by ur hub) or to get a part-time job or the last option...get a maid... to look after your kids with the supervision from your parents lor...IMHO -

If its Phase 2A2, all the more you would have sufficient information re 2A2.
There were 85 applicants for 2A2, and after taking all in, Rulang was left with 20 vacancies (10 each for 2B & 2C). That means they had enough vacancies for 2A2. If at 2A2 they had more applicants than vacancies (an info you wanted to know), there won't be a Phase 2B nor 2C for Rulang!
Have you checked your mail ? All Phase 2A2 should have since been notified via mail. Most , if not all, received their letter of confirmation either on Tuesday or Wednesday. If you have not received, then you should call the school and inform them that you are under 2A2 and have not received your confirmation - i am assuming you called them today (since you only posted today) & guess coz you asked them about number of applicants so far, they had assumed that you are after Phase 2B numbers, which at 10.41am , they won't be able to provide (not even a mid-day number coz registration for the morning has not closed yet).
Hope the above helps.
