2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

leo:
thanks for all the replies to my 'complaint'.
Concern about student care is that we cannot reach there on time since there is a possiblity of OT.
Concern with school bus will be the long distance (you know, go into every street and drive of the housing estate before reaching home) which will tire out the child even before she reaches home.
Perhaps, u have to consider if you can survive on a single income (by ur hub) or to get a part-time job or the last option...get a maid... to look after your kids with the supervision from your parents lor...IMHO -

Huh ? I'm not exactly sure if I am following you.Hi YingYing,
I actually applied under 2A(2), so i presume the application was successful, even though I would be glad to receive a confirmation of some sort.
Email/SMS is probably too much to ask for. But maybe they can post something like \"All applicants under Phrase X are successful\" on their school website
Think I saw a Primary school website that did that.. can't remember which school though.
Of course, I do understand if they cannot provide real-time updates.
I was quite anxious as I was actually considering withdrawing the application if the number of applicants exceed the number of vacancies by a huge number, thus I was trying my luck in getting a mid-day number on the 2nd day.
In fact, I even went to the school personally just to check out the queue number, but was unable to get any info
Nonetheless, Henry Park was nice enough to provide a mid-day number
I wonder how successful/unsuccessful applicants will be notified under 2B if they are not able to be present during balloting though.
If its Phase 2A2, all the more you would have sufficient information re 2A2.
There were 85 applicants for 2A2, and after taking all in, Rulang was left with 20 vacancies (10 each for 2B & 2C). That means they had enough vacancies for 2A2. If at 2A2 they had more applicants than vacancies (an info you wanted to know), there won't be a Phase 2B nor 2C for Rulang!
Have you checked your mail ? All Phase 2A2 should have since been notified via mail. Most , if not all, received their letter of confirmation either on Tuesday or Wednesday. If you have not received, then you should call the school and inform them that you are under 2A2 and have not received your confirmation - i am assuming you called them today (since you only posted today) & guess coz you asked them about number of applicants so far, they had assumed that you are after Phase 2B numbers, which at 10.41am , they won't be able to provide (not even a mid-day number coz registration for the morning has not closed yet).
Hope the above helps. -
YingYing,
Sorry for the confusion. I tried to get the numbers on the 2nd day of phase2A(2) to make a decision. It's over and I was just relating my experience
But yeah I did not receive any confirmation even though I assume my application was successful. Didn't even know I'm supposed to receive a letter? -

No worries. Good to know the \"nightmare\", if any, is over for you \",)YingYing,

Scary to go through balloting - i have a weak heart - i don't think i can take the stress
I guess for you now , your immediate action should be to check the mailbox (according to the address you listed on the green application form for 2A2 - which to many, is actually their home address :))
If you do not see any mail coming from Rulang, I suggest you call them now (before 2.30pm , before the next batch of Phase 2B applicants stream in).
Hope to hear good news from you

Is it true that we are allowed to just produce the photocopied IC of the spouse's instead of showing the original one?
No, not true. -
BigDevil:
BigDevil is right. Has to be original IC - you also need to give them photocopied ones - they will verify the photocopied version against the originals on registration day.jogoh:

No, not true.
In the case of divorced couple, if the (registering) spouse cannot get hold of the other spouse's original IC, then a letter of consent from the (absent) spouse (or missing person report/ personal protection order) will be required, assuming the child is under joint-custody. -

I am registering my DD under P2B (SHHK) at Taonan. The school has scheduled our registration at 2.30pm - 4.30pm tomorrow. I don't know how many others have the same time slot. For PVs/SHHK members, it does not matter because we only have 1 school to apply to in phase 2B anyway
Just a strategy as GRL parents can choose the schools to register in P2B.leo:
Why will GRL parents do it tomorrow?
. But if you are a GRL trying to strategize based on today's numbers, you may have a surprise coming .
-
But why do they want to do that? i mean if GRLs might just register and that will result in balloting. If they have known earlier, perhaps they can withdraw and register a school with lesser intake.? :scratchhead:
