No need to complete all 6 terms of PFS lah. PFS is just like a bridging course between LiftOff and their Success 1 level (for P1 kids). So if the child finishes LiftOff before last term of K2, he/she will do PFS until the child goes to P1 and start Success 1 level. PFS covers a bit of everything, from Vocab, Cloze passage, Comprehension, Compo writing, grammer etc, and of course weekly spelling.

BTW, no wonder I find your nick familiar…you have an older child in PC right? My kids may be going there too….still thinking…is it a pressure cooker?? :gloomy: :offtopic:

            Hi,

Personally I feel LCentral focus more on the child’s phonemic awareness (Foundation has to be strong) and this is important for the child when he learns how to read. Whereas ICR can be just touch and go kind.
Does your child already know his/her phonics like 1st sound, last sound, middle sounds etc? Has he/her attended any pre-schools or enrichment?
My gal who attends LCentral classes since she was 3 has the Foundation and now she is in the LiftOff program which is a structured 33 lessons sessions, I can see she knows her words well and can read rather well which is what LiftOff program is all about.
For ICR, I put my gal there when she was 3 for 1 term and find that she doesn’t enjoy her sessions and hence switch to LCentral.

                        iLoveChubby:
Hi, can i chk with parents who have or had kids in Liftoff Program, is it true that they have weekly spelling thr'out the program?

Do you find your kids improved significantly after the completion of this program?
I also noticed that they dont cover grammar until their Success Program (ie P1 level)...
Liftoff emphasis as a reading programme. They focus on spelling, reading...picture scenarios and alot more. At end of 33 lessons, children can independently read... I think is amazing.
