What's the difference between those table lamps that use energy saving bulb and those led lamps?
dunno about Led lamps cos expensive loh but the staff at homefix told me that for table lamps, most are using energy saving bulb and mostly philip brand. It is the table lamp with filter that is the difference. Before buying the lamp, i mainly switched on the light in the room and mostly i did not notice the area where my children are studying are not that bright until when i bought the lamp. It is only once study over and switched off the lamp, i realised how dark it is even though the whole room is brightly lit with white light. At least after 2 hours of studying, both myself and my children are not complaining eye strain cos my children doing the writing and i am doing the teaching. -
My husband is not happy with me getting a study lamp with those energy saving light bulb. He said like not really for studying purpose (no filter) and our bathroom also have energy saving bulb, might as well go into the bathroom and read books.
:scratchhead: But LED ones are expensive. Not sure can change the light if spoil also. -

i bought the 3M light filter, the new one BL series and the light bulb can buy off the shelf, it is mainly the filter that we pay for, about $180

what is clip on version? maybe i should take a photo of before and after (as in before i switch on the lamp and after i switch on the lamp) in a brightly lit room at night.larkspur:
i got the the light already and my gosh what a great difference it makes. My children no longer complains of eye strain or painful anymore. i bought from HomeFix. Got discount if you bought $200 of items(inclusive the desk light too) and buy their homefix magazine at $1, there is a $20 discount which can be used immediately on the spot to offset the $200.
Any idea if there are clip on version ? -

Because my kids table are those that can slant, so saver to use clip on type.znzyzyzx:

If most are using energy saving bulb, just get normal one.

Hi Larkspur,
May i know where did you buy the 3m filter and bulb? And how much did you pay for the philips lamp which you got from home fix? -
which study lamp is best in the market right now? Philips or 3M?

I’ve been using Philips LED desk lamp for a few weeks already every single day and it has been working absolutely fine. It is well-made, the aluminum construction adds a bit of a premium look to it and the lamp is very stable.
